surprisingly (even to myself) i'm back on the stock dialer, but you're right i dont get much mileage out of smartdialing...

Hrm...I seem to be having PocketCM Keyboard problems with 5050...anyone else seem to not be able to change the SIP to PCM Kb?

Ok No2chem couple quick questions for a noob with the flashing. I got new 5050 installed and you say do a hard reset after install... well how exactly do i do a hard reset which buttons do i pushand hold i know the soft ones but what exactly are the soft buttons... and also how do i do a soft reset?? same prinicple...... And when i go into your ftp at the bottom of your sig to get the nuemms i cant i get a bunch of jumbled mumbo jumbo lettering....

Smartdialing is when the name pops up as you type with the dialer? I use that all the time - in fact its one of my favorite parts of Windows Mobile.

Why does everyone hate the plain dialer? I used to have another one on my Apache, but found it pointless because the other one didn't do this "smart dialing" thing.

Changing the font would be amazing.

you got pass the hard part, the rest is easy..

hard reset.. start menu/ settings/ system/ "clear storage"

soft reset.. insert you stylus into the tiny hole on the bottom of your phone

who is having luck using the UC tool found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=371832 ? I've been trying to get sdconfig builder to work with no luck! it's killing me because i want to have this setup and in place before i flash to 5051 and beyond... someone please help? trying not to panic...

Not sure if I'm wrong on this but I'm not sure if that clear storage is really the same as the hard reset, but JIC you can hard reset by holding both soft keys (above Green and Red keys) and then pressing the soft reset button under the memory card with the stylus. Hold the soft keys until you see the message on screen that says something about "press R to reset". You'll see what I mean

how come everytime i go into ##778# it resets my phone with the rom..... is that a buig no2? scratch that now my phone is randomly resetting itself... any ieas anyone?
