Titan ReLocker - The Hard-SPL undo option

EDIT: This is no longer current after GPS came out, please see the nueSPL Relocker for the newer relocking option:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=30560

From the creator of the wm5 "upgrades" for the wm6 Titan comes a relocker to undo the Hard-SPL.

This is compatible with windows XP, please do not use on Vista at this time (unless you are sure you have modaco drivers installed)!

This program will flash a stock 1.06 bootloader to your device to remove the Hard-SPL. In general if you don't understand exactly what this is doing it probably is not for you. It does not give you any additional features, but it might make you feel more comfortable if you are getting warranty work done.

Run the exe and follow EVERY step of the instructions and you should be good to go. If you get stuck in bootloader with vista read the stuck in bootloader thread for links to different drivers. Other then that the standard disable USB in activesync will allow the included exit bootloader program to work.

Thanks go to Olipro for the help with the original Hard-SPL, I also used his modification to the Pof JumpSPL for the loader.
Thanks to Colonel and Luv2chill for testing and helping to clear up my poor instructions

and the link:

Titan_Relocker.exe is still on the FTP, but i removed this link because i want to make something abundantly clear first:
DO NOT USE THE RELOCKER FOR ANYTHING RELATED TO GPS ROMS, OR REVERTING BACK AFTER GPS UPDATE.
(see http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=26082 in vogue forum for more info. Vogue has different version numbers, but same principles)

Notes:

Has run fine on Vista for myself and others, but it might be good to have an xp box too

USB must work for this to flash, if you are worried about USB issues you should run this before it becomes a problem.

Make sure you are comfortable with exit bootloader steps first (disabling USB activesync and making sure you have the right drivers if in vista)

Flashing a rom will also exit bootloader and can be done from the 3 color screen.

CPLD-9 is just part of the stock 1.06 bl (from sprint 2.16) do not be worried by that. Also RUUNBH in top right corner will go away next time you enter BL

Nice work!

PS...I think you posted this in the Touch forum in lieu of the Titan forum...

andason 11-18-2007 11:35 PM

Thanks!

I suppose it doesn't matter what flavor rom u have on when locking?

ImCoKeMaN 11-18-2007 11:38 PM

Well the only point of this is to go back to stock so i'd flash this then flash the stock rom next if you were worried about warranty coverage for something minor.

PS: It looks like the titan thread to me =) (good catch)

andason 11-18-2007 11:42 PM

good deal..just making sure stock wasn't need prior to locking..downloaded but I hope I never need it..good work though :)

luv2chill 11-18-2007 11:52 PM

Incidentally it worked fine for me on Vista but unless you've installed the old RUU drivers (the modaco thread) then you'll likely be stuck in bootloader at the end.

To me that's no big deal because the easiest fix for that is to just flash a stock ROM--which you'd likely be doing anyway if you're trying to put the stock bootloader back on.

Thanks to ImCoKeMaN for all his hard work on this!

ImCoKeMaN 11-19-2007 12:04 AM

Thanks for the clarification, i think i'll leave my warnings in the first post for now so the one's that don't feel like reading won't jump in and complain about being stuck in bootloader though. But, it is true that the only real reason for this is to flash a stock rom anyway.

markgamber 11-19-2007 02:36 AM

Thanks, it's nice to have the option. Has anyone been denied anything because they had a "custom" bootloader?

starmans 11-19-2007 09:53 PM

Thanks to all who made possible as my d-pad stoped working and have be holding back on going to get fixed.

Keyone 11-21-2007 03:47 AM

Thank you so much! I was waiting for this to do the unlock!

srrobinson2 12-19-2007 11:58 AM

Worked like a champ! (I hope they don't notice the upgraded radio v1.40 as I couldn't find the stock version :)

Maybe I spoke too soon. I performed the initial programming with Verizon, and it displayed SPL unlocked. Any thoughts?

ViPaDawG 12-29-2007 05:06 AM

just relocked my launch mogul due to random restart issues since I have a replacement mogul coming, can't wait to unlock that one!

thanks for all the work guys!

gangsterholla179 12-29-2007 05:22 AM

wait im new n i just wanna kno wat this means

ViPaDawG 12-29-2007 05:47 AM

this program will reapply the stock bootloader that comes with the phone. the UNlocker applies the custom bootloader which then in turn allows custom roms and cooked roms to be uploaded to the phone, something you cannot do with the stock bootloader, and so if for some reason you need to have your phone serviced or just dont want them to give you a reason to deny you having warranty stuff done, not to say that they wont, because most times they themselves wont notice.

a1jatt 12-30-2007 11:30 AM

i had this cutom bootloader installed.. then i flashed my p4000 with telus's WM6 official upgrade.. that changed my bootloader back to stock one.. so does this mean flashing with telus's wm6 did the same thing?

ViPaDawG 12-30-2007 04:55 PM

this is not the custom bootloder. this is the UNDO for custom bootloader. and installing roms do NOT change the bootloader.

before installing telus's wm6 update, in the bootloader mode i had oilpro bootloader.
after i installed telus wm6 i am back to telus's original bootloader. have not done anything else :S

ViPaDawG 01-04-2008 02:28 PM

how do you know you are in the telus bootloader once you have installed the rom?

you will know you are in the bootloader if you hold power + camera and hit the soft reboot, it should take you to the olipro bootloader, if that doesnt, then maybe the telus rom does uninstall the bootloader. i'm not an expert in how they work, but afaik i didnt think rom updates update bootloaders.

ImCoKeMaN 01-04-2008 04:33 PM

A normal shipped rom update "EXE" would change the bootloader, but the Olipro version is specially made not to be overwritten so it doesn't need to be unlocked multiple times. This is why i made the special relocker for the Titan. If your device never said 1.20.Olipro it was not fully unlocked though and that could be why it went back.

a1jatt 01-04-2008 11:02 PM

this is what i did.

I ran unlocker.
it said it unlocked.
i did a soft reset .
then i booted it in bootloader mode. it said 1.20.Oilpro.
I loaded telus wm5 from ftp.
used it for half a day.. then decided to go back to wm6.
then i flashed with telus wm6 update.
now i have stock telus bootloader.

Nothing wrong there.. just curious if it is supposed to go that.. or may be i ran relocker and did not know what i was doing.. :S

So if i have stock radio 1.32.. stock telus wm6 rom and stock bootloader.. and i send it to telus for repairs covered by warranty .. will they be able to find out that i was playing around with the rom??

ViPaDawG 01-04-2008 11:35 PM

i dont believe so, but again, not an expert. afaik they cannot.

azclown 01-24-2008 11:34 AM

Is there a version of relocker for the XV6800 from Verizon?? My bootloader shows the info like it was a sprint phone...

azclown 01-25-2008 08:01 PM

^bump... I can't find anything.....

Hot0m 01-26-2008 07:46 AM

THANK you so MUCH for this post, I officially hate 6.1 in it's current state, ever since I loaded it my (OK) PPC 6800 with BELL has become a piece of SH*T not even able to make or receive calls , but able to tell me with about 2KM +/- where I was located, With 6.1 I am no longer able to uninstall programs have had to do 3 hard resets in 24 hours, because once i had loaded an old dialer skin and twice because unable to hear or be heard during calls (soft reset did not fix issue). now just loaded old BASIC ROM and hope for the best until a stable 6.1 is out.

To all developers THANK YOU for the hard work and don't give up until all the potential of phone fully unlocked

gazgiz79 02-09-2008 03:20 PM

ok, i got a weird request. I need to bring my phone in to have the lcd/touchscreen fixed and I have the 3.16 gps rom installed for my sprint mogul. I've read that once you install this one it changes your bootloader and this makes it so i can't go back to 2.17 without getting error 328 invalid command. I believe from what i've read i can run this relocker and then run the 2.17 rom from sprint. I don't want to bring my phone in to be worked on with this leaked rom and because my lcd is damaged I can't see the screen on my phone when the prompts come up during the relocker I don't know where and what to click. Is there any way to run the relocker without needing to confirm anything on the phone or does anyone have screen shots of where i'll need to click during the process. Or is there another way to get the old bootloader installed from my computer? Thanks in advance for your help.

zaya 02-10-2008 11:56 PM

Would someone be so kind as to just email me the relocker. Just zip it or something cuz i have tried for over an hour to download it and always get stuck at 8%! just send it to i.m.wut.i.am@gmail.com. thanks in advance.

ImCoKeMaN 02-11-2008 12:14 AM

Try a different FTP client. I use crappy IE and it works fine, there are many FTP clients you could try, but i've heard firefox sometimes has issues with random ftp files. Not sure what you are using, but i just downloaded the file with no issues so try a different tool or even firewall/network settings

zaya 02-11-2008 12:44 AM

OMG YOU REALLY ARE THE MAN!!!! A download i had running in Explorer just finished. I dont know how...I really have been trying for like a hour. oh well. thanks for your reply and our excellent work!

kev2184 02-13-2008 08:48 PM

Re: Titan ReLocker - The Hard-SPL undo option

I have run every upgrade and unlocker with vista with no problems at all. Do you think this will run OK? Is there any difference between this and the unlocker with vista compatibility?

Thanks!

Re: Titan ReLocker - The Hard-SPL undo option

As for the download try different FTP clients, the file is there and accessible. If you read this and the previous page you'll see others had the issue and were able to overcome it even using IE.

As for vista. That warning is pretty much obsolete, so i edited the first post. I think the earlier reported issues were probably driver related. Now it's just listed as a recommendation to have an xp box more as an "incase"

Outstanding! So is getting back to stock (complete with old radio) as simple as running the relocker and then Sprint's stock ROM?

<p>Any help would be geatly appreciated. I'm trying to flash old sprint ROM. Mogul is stuck at HTC screen. It will go to bootloader screen, but during flash it says device not recognized. I did see wm 6.1 screen, then it kept re-setting, it resets during flash also. I've tried to unlock and relock, but usb does not open.</p>
