Got bored, and flashed CM9beta...

Battery life seems fine, no weird SMS issues with SMS that maxed out 2 messages (> 160), and everything seems to be running pretty damn smoothly. Wow...very sweet.

yeah, the SMS clipping worked, but I use SMS2PC, DesktopSMS, and GV integration.
SMS2PC: over 160 characters - the person gets weird garbled characters and it's in my GV
DesktopSMS: over 160 characters - the person gets weird garbled characters and it's NOT in my GV

weirdness.

Other things I don't like
1) I can't add FB contacts
2) can't merge contacts.

nullghost is working on forcing the SMS 160 character Split, so it will be impossible for users to mess up their own settings by turning it off.

so maybe your settings somehow got messed up?


Another thing that can do desktop sms is qtADB not sure how well it does it though as I use it only to simplify ADB.

The Facebook thing is ICS not CM9 causing that. I would image that goes for the contacts too. Most ICS roms I've seen pretty much have the same issues.

Google "Facebook ICS" I use HaxSync and highly recommend it. however its not free

You can do both of these,
I am currently on Nightly 9-20120614-NIGHTLY-i777,

1: updating FB contact,

it has worked for me without faults.

2: Merging contact steps for CM9 with current Nightly:
open the contact you wish to be the primary profile,
tap settings, and tap edit.
tap setting again, and tap join.
find and tap on the contact you wish to merge.

again these step were done on the latest nightly, find your latest nightly here: CyanogenMod Downloads

on the left find your device and download your device.
