well its not like i can open a nib phone at store nor am i waiting for someone to buy one and asking if i can take a picture. lol
i did ask him to take a picture but to be honest my phone says exact same thing so not sure what i can do.
not like sprint never confirmed it, april they said were getting gb.

I understand and I also believe we will get GB. I just don't think any Epic has an official release on it yet. My bet is on mid to late August.

Were in august already so hopefully its mid and not late august. Ive seen lower end phones that GB comes already pre installed and this phone hasn't gotten the update yet thats not right

Be thankful we have fryo. Usually most cell companies only pay for updates that are bug fixes and not dot releases like 2.1 to 2.2... we could be rocking on eclair

TRUE very TRUE which would be something that i would hate cause even lower end phones would be on 2.3 and this "HIGH END" phone stuck on 2.1 would really suck but in reality though this phone does everything i need it to do since 2.1 stock but i still want some ice cream sandwich.

Samsung does charge sprint for updates it part of their contracts. Bug fixes are free all others cost money. Phone is end of life so sprint will say purchase new phone.

ITs part of their contracts yes..but Samsung does not charge them for updates:

regardless if they do or dont i think the carrier still owes it to the consumer to support the phone they have signed a contract/agreement with especially if the manufacturer has support/upgrades for it.
