Thanks, jaronow. I suspected it was something like that. I still get the message when my calendars or task lists are synching. But the messages and their 3 accompanying vibes only last a couple of seconds and the sync goes through anyway. I'm full stock. So unless it gets worse or something else problematic comes along, I think I can live with it and without a total wipe.
