Re: I have no idea how to update to 2.2...

That snake edited his post again haha, figures why I didn't see it.

Haha gotcha, data only. Does that not restore programs and what not? And as I said, I would need to reinstall Rom manager first, right? And that'll allow me to boot to Clockwork? Or is there an easier way?

And...any way in particular you recommend to installing kernels? I never heard of that until yesterday.

Re: I have no idea how to update to 2.2...

Ok, no need to install that. Can I just boot right to Clockwork or is there a step I'm missing due to being kinda dumb about this?

Re: I have no idea how to update to 2.2...

Also, question: [KERNEL][GPL]Genocide EC05 Kernel v1.0|1.4GhzOC|Conf your own UV|VoodooMods 3/31/2011 - xda-developers

Is this one compatible with DI18? It says it's compatible with DK28, EB13, and EC05.

Re: I have no idea how to update to 2.2...

No its not, 2.1 kernels are not compatible with 2.2 kernels...

After you flash DI18, do a data restore in clockwork then run the update.zip again in stock recovery..

(you will have to do the 1 click root again to get clockwork back)

you can access recovery by hiting vol down + camera + power

and odin is a complete wipe

PS I am a cat, not a snake :/

Re: I have no idea how to update to 2.2...

Alright, order of operations:

-Odin, running now
-1 Click Root
-Data restore
-update.zip
-Kernel

This right?

Re: I have no idea how to update to 2.2...

Alright I'm flashed to DI18 and rooted now I'm going to do a data restore and then apply the update.zip. Could I do a full restore or does the different number thingy matter?

Hmm, through clockwork I didn't see an option for data only...now it's restoring everything it seems. Did I mess up?

Re: I have no idea how to update to 2.2...

Haha you have to be kidding me...so I did the upgrade to DI18, reroot, and restore with Clockwork. I went to do the upgrade.zip, and I got the same error message as before :/ Did I mess up the order?

Re: I have no idea how to update to 2.2...

Sorry, got busy there.

Clockworks installs with the one click root.

Do the data only restore, if you do the full restore you will go right back to where you started the other day.

Restoring the data is where some people will disagree. I always do it last.
