There is defiantly no asphalt demo there nor to I remember it being there after the update from 2.1 to 2.2. Could have been over excitement on my part for finally getting 2.2 IDK but I know that I don't want to have to start from scratch. After trying the ota and getting the yellow ! surrounding by a triangle i pressed back and clockwork came up, I rebooted it and it booted back to EB13, normally I wouldn't have an issue trying out different ways but this is my wife's phone and well I need a bed to sleep in if you catch my drift.. would applying the update.zip from sd work? Is there a safe way to remove root? She dosent need root as she dosent use it for anything except the quick reboot. She can do w/o it. thanks
Yeah called one.click.root.exploitv2.5.5 is the latest version for RFS...(was just making sure you were using the latest version)..I'm guessing what happened was when you installed it the first time it cleaned up the memory needed but did not get a chance to update the empty space to install busy box. If you use Titanium Backup, by hitting "problems" tab installs a new busy box anyways...

---

Now for update.zip method, you can do it on top of root as long as you did not remove any programs...I hear it also helps to boot into stock recovery when applying it.

Question Re: EB13 to EC05 with Rooted CWM, no undoing!

now but what is busy box? i know about the root part and the clockwork thing.. but i have never use what ever busy box comes inside the clockwork package. do i realy need that? cuz if i can just get away with rooting and clockwork ill be fine. but if clockwork its not going to work as it should because busybox then thats where the problems starts..

Busy Box is a toolkit of extra commands for linux/unix..its used for things here and there such Titanium Backup and etc..full info can be found here:

BusyBox - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm pretty sure you don't need busybox for rooting..but not 100% sure about clockworkmod..

well the only way is installing clockwork without the busy box to find out. so i took an aventure to see if clockwork works normal without busybox. guess what? i guess it does becuase I only use clockwork to back up and restore my phone everytime i screw something up in 1 of the apps or if i get bored i do a avance restore or what ever.. and last night here is what i did.

1. install clean stock EB13
2. waited for the OTA EC05 and installed it.
3. installed one.click.root.exploitv2.5.5 as i was able to do without busybox as I mentioned before.
4. installed all my apps manually and when to clockwork and did a back up.
5. after backup i booted the phone normally everything normal..
so i went back to clockwork did a factory reset and cache clear 4 times on both and booted the phone to make sure that it was fully factory reseted. and sure it was virging stock. so for the third time went back to clockwork and went to back up and restore / avance restore and choose the back up that i made and choose DATA waited everything looked normal. and right after my phone booted everything installed all my apps were there just like if i had never done factory reset..

ok i know all you guys know all these steps above. but the only reason that i created this tutorial is just in case someone else comes here with the same issue as me of not been able to fully root the phone after the EC05 OTA update or think that clockwork will not work becuase of the busy box error... well in my case it worked. so i think clockwork works like a champ without busybox in this case anyways... but for those that want to use busy box then you will have to find a way to root the whole package.. but if iam wrong if iam wrong anyone please let me know..

latinlover I see you finally took the step to rooting and you didnt have any issues and you were able to return back to complete stock like i had mentioned to you in our convo on messenger over and over... LOL

You dont need to clear the cache 4times 3 is enough
now all you have to do is install CWM 3+ so you can install a custom rom

yes masetas i have been roooting for the past month and 1/2 now. when me and you talked on messsnger i was only wondering about the ROMS since that was the only thing i had never tryed before i talk to you. but i took some of your guide and some of my own to learn the hard way, and yes i finally learned the basic or the main thing on how to flash custom ROMS and how to retun back to stocks ROMS. i know clockwork 3.0 its made mainly for custom ROM using ext4 partitions. but i guess iam going to be using stock ROMS for the most part... so thats why iam back on CWM 2.5.5. since i had tryed some of the customs ROMS but i had some problems that it was making me force closing on a few settings or some apps... so thats why i decided to go back to stock. for now anyways. so thats why i created this tutorial on how to use stock ROM in this case EB13 and install the EC05 OTA the the last step was installing CWM 2.5.5 but as i mentioned the only error that i got when installing CMW 2.5.5 was busybox. but everything else like the root and CMW seems to be working ok.. so we will see what happens next..

I have been seeing those 2 words in several threads. And I just saw agin on that link. So I had to ask. Please let me know guys. It my first time here on my epic on this Forum. Pretty cool. Lol
