My Epic won't update to 2.2 - help?

So I got the notification about Sprint ID the other day but didn't realize that meant I could get 2.2 so I cleared the update from my list.

Now I can't get my phone to update to 2.2!

I got to settings>About phone> system updates>update andriod and it says I have the most up to date software already.

I double checked my version and it still says 2.1 update 1.

How can I get 2.2?

your still on eclair? well you missed 2 froyo updates. are you rooted?

if your build is not di18 odin the tar for di18 and follow directions for EC05.

ive gotten 2 messages..
-one by text that was a link to a webpage that told me about sprint id coming to the epic
-the other wasnt a text, but it had the sprint logo in the notif bar. saying "a software update is coming soon."
thats it....
so im guessing/hoping that the download is on it's way

ya thats how i got mine skee, much simpler to do it yourself imo. the stock rom is on xda also.

Well it's downloading as I type. My phone is not rooted but I had installed an app called superuser back when I thought I might. I uninstalled that this morning and the update seemed to start immediatly - but who knows, could jsut have been a coincidence.

ya you need to be factory stock will all apps included even sprints crap.

im downloading the update too. i heard that with this new version all the bloatware has been removed and the only app that it comes with is mobileppcgeeks
