I keep Opera on hand as a secondary browser, and have for a while. Honestly, I use it *because* of Turbo. Where I work, Sprint has a pretty weak signal and I use Roam Control to lock onto Verizon. The 2G speeds (side effect of roaming) are maddening, though, so Turbo actually speeds up browsing a LOT.

But if you almost always have access to 3G or better speeds, there's no need for the feature at all.

I haven't tried the final but I tried beta->RC and so on..its ok and all but lack of flash, checker boarding and etc..I used it as a 2nd browser due to its strong HTML5 support...but now that Opera bumped itself its HTML5 support is almost as high as firefox, has flash, has no checkerboarding and faster..so I see no reason to keep firefox and just use Opera now..Maybe next version of Firefox when they address some of the issues I'll revisit it.

Um..it shouldnt be giving you a mobile site..are you using the mobile check box, if thats the case that doesn't work right..you gotta enter the UA in the advanced config.

Re: Browser Suggestion

so far i think the dolphin browser is the best choice. the UI is nice to see and features are to my taste. And as far as I know there is flash support for Froyo. You can check in their website Dolphin Browser and Dolphin Browser. I believe you can find what you want.

There is flash in dolphin but the thing about dolphin is while its fast the Flash is slower then stock browser and HTML 5 support is on par with stock...Opera gives 100/100 acid3, smoother flash and better HTML5 support...

I'm not saying dolphin is bad in any ways..just Opera is more likely to display desktop sites better.

Re: Browser Suggestion

opera 9.7 had a score of 100 but I don't really think it matters. I've seen occasions when lower scoring browsers handled sites better than any version of opera whether it be on the desktop or mobile and what else is they blame web developers for purposely coding their sites to not work well with or crash opera instead of trying to fix their own bugs and exploits. its obviously a problem on their end if these "developer exploits" are working. I also don't think its a valid option if they don't provide an easy way that even the general public will know how to do, to switch between mobile mode or desktop mode. this is already a function in the latest version of the stock Android browser, the IE on WM6.1.21051 and above and the IE on wp7.

The reason why you see lower scoring browsers sometime handle pages better is when people code for browsers that do not follow standards *cough*IE*cough*...

But i do agree they need to fix that mobile mode on and off works properly..I just set the UA but its still shouldn't be done that way.

IE is following standards now in version 9. as said before that shouldn't matter,if the browser is as good as they say it is it should be able to handle all sites. and I don't kno y opera won't provide a proper mobile>desktop switch there's many posts about it in their forums.

umm..no there were a lot of hacks, mostly on old sites that were programmed specifically for IE...you can't work around all those as it would slow down the browser and cause issues..the best you can do is follow standards...but yes IE9 is more compliant...

Opera does provide a mobile>desktop..it just doesn't work...the method they do it is very subtle..aka it requires the page to be compliant with the tag they send...99% of the pages, even yahoo.com ignore it and just send to mobile view by default.

Opera 11 though renders things much better as it has an HTML5 compliance on par with dessktop browsers..not just acid3 compliance
