7am to 3pm = 70%,
but I plugged it in for a few minutes so that there is a 5% jump.
IOW: it would have been at 65% after 8hrs.
not the best, but acceptable.

I think that my phone just can't tell the battery life. My spare battery died last night at midnight, showed low battery and then turned off in a few minutes. I turned it back on and it was still at 30% and stayed on for hours after that.

how come nobody on this thread with this battery problem on eb13 just flash back to eclair and see if problem goes away.

I am in the same boat. So getting 6 hours of battery life with is NOT the norm with Epic 4G? My phone sits idle with ABSOLUTELY no activity, ZERO talk time (maybe 2-3 minutes at most sometimes). Wifi/Bluetooth/4G ALL turned off. The only thing it is syncing is my Gmail account. Stock kernel (only clockwork mod installed). Should I be expecting more than 6-8 hours?

My first question for you is how is your signal strength? When I'm at work my signal strength is incredibly weak and my phone is constantly searching for signal. Because of that my battery usually only last about 6 hours at work. But anywhere else my battery will last 14-16 hours.
