must root ur fone 1st

then log into the market and download free version of titanium backup(i would wait until the banner turns from grey to green, might not b important but thats a step i take)

after it installs, run the app, just like another member mentioned, u have to hit the problems link to update busybox, first and foremost

titanium will ask to restart, restart titanium, then close it

purchase pro version. install pro version, titanium will ask to restart, do it.
now ur ready to backup data.

back up angry birds, and free apps u donwloaded from the market, back up "email" in the apps list, apps in red really shudnt b backed up, theyre default apps or whatever. dont back up titanium(at least i didnt/dont).
now in the preferences, i changed my backup history from 1 to 2. with the pro version u can save backups of each individual app up to 25 times.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

to restore, start with a clean slate(preferably after an update or hard reset). after u log into the market, restart it until the banner goes from grey to green.

download titanium free version only!!!

go to apps list. the apps that were backed up arent downloaded on the fone!! so what go to the bottom of the apps list, tap on desired backup choose to restore app+data...violla

My girlfriend has a G2 and I did the same thing, but the opposite happened, MBP worked and TB didn't. So my thought is, use whatever works for you.
I've never had a single issue with TB Pro restoring RFS or Ext4 but I think I'll try MBP. Thanks for the heads up.

I tried your step by step and now I don't get the parse error. I click on restore app + data and it says restore failed. When I just click app only, it says restore complete....but the app isn't restored. Hope someone can help or otherwise its money down the drain!

Try disabling compression...

I have that a try and still no success. I had it set to no compression from a post I read earlier. im thinking it just that those previous back ups were somehow corrupted our maybe its because they are all when I had stock eclair. I'm going to just take time to reinstall reach the way I found rather than restore, then do fresh backups.

if I decide to put compression back on, which is best for the epic?

yeah you need to have the busy box installed BEFORE you back it up. Compression is up to you..bright side to having compression off is I hear it helps in case of corruption. Bad side is it takes more space.
