Epic App Restoring with Titanium Backup Issues..

ok, im having an issue restoring apps using titanium backup on my epic. it has 2.2 froyo, im rooted now with clockwork & busybox (i believe). i see the app files in the restore list in titanium backup, they have a line going through them. when i click restore, i get a message that says "Parse error - There is a problem parsing the package". i have know idea how to fix this. im not sure if this is an epic issue, froyo issue, or titanium backup issue...or all of the above. any assistance will be greatly appreciated, especially with a clear step-by step.

***i went and reinstalled via the market place and the app then showed up without the line through in titanium backup, was able to backup again and hit restore with no issues. so, im thinking this should be able to get fixed without seeking out every app in the market place and just do it within titanium backup.

For Titanium to work best you gotta hit the "problems?" button and download its own busybox...it also helps to disable compression :/..even though it hurts space..

Titanium is a good program for restoring apps one by one, but MyBackupPro is better for doing batch restores like you would want to do after a new ROM flash (IMO).

+1 and even cooks are now recommending not using it. there is a free version but "pro" is well worth couple bux$. there is a 30dy trial with "pro" version here: RerWare Android&#8482 Products: MyBackup Pro (backup Android, Nexus One, Motorola Droid, G1, Hero, MyTouch, etc...), MyBookmarks

Kool, I'm going to give MyBackUp (pro) a try and see how that goes. I would definitely want the feature to download all at once.

Also, I was able to find a folder on my storage card alled "backup" which looks to have the full .apk of most if not all my apps. I don't think this is from titanium at all, but clicking on a file let's me easily install the app. I noticed that when I installed that it doesn't show up in marketplace that it is installed, unless I do it again in marketplace. Is this standard and is there a work around? My only concerns is for auto-updating update notices really.

once cooked froyo roms are out you will see, its mainly ext4 roms that it craps on plus my backup pro is better in lots of ways imo. with ext stuff getting ready to drop you may wanna try it.

what steps did you take to update via titanium? did you ever get the parse error? i still get it if i tap on one of the files, hit restore, and the error comes. the only way i can do it is the long press method that takes me to the market. and also, when i go back to restore data after i reinstall from the market, it doesnt seem to bring any of the previous data.

Just to add my $.02 here. I have once had an issue with restoring with TB. At the recommendation of a few others here I tried My Backup Pro. So before my last flash, I backed up with both. Then I restored first with MBP and had lots of FC problems, then I restored with TB and everything worked great. My girlfriend has a G2 and I did the same thing, but the opposite happened, MBP worked and TB didn't. So my thought is, use whatever works for you.
