Re: Nexus S vs Epic 4G

im going to go out on a limb and say i dant hate the second screen. seems kinda cool if implimented right. id like to see if you can use it independently of the big screen even tho it it supposedly 1 pane. you know. just light it up and let it scroll texts or weather or something.
i would really like a dual screen device with the second screen somewhere else on the phone or even a second loose display that worked via blue tooth or something. you could have your phone in your pocket and set your little display on your desk.
or maybe its just me...

If you had the continuum and something else that would make 3 displays??? while they're all made of glass or plastic?? they're all bound to break. Man...

If I didn't do rough things, to my phone maybe I would have it but what could go wrong when I'm adventurous, and destructive...? I can't live with a bunch of gadgets that could easily break. 1 is enough for me... uh actually the Epic replaced my Garmin GPS (which I gave to my wife.) And that's why I got the hard case protective cover for the phone. Coming from a Nextel family before I started buying smart-phones... I didn't buy fancy phones with all the gee whiz. I bought a rugged phone that withstand drops, even if I got mad and threw it out the window of a 3 story building. The phone may be busted up cosmetically with minimal wear on outside, you can bet I had the caller id display scratched up but the phone was still operational.

edit:
I doubt you're like me... if I had one word, it's "paranoid" I'm always checking every minute to see if my phone is in the holster or in my pocket where it's supposed to be in case I forget that I left it somewhere to be lost, dropped, or stolen. Oddly, I wasn't behaving like that with Nextel... man, I was careless.

i didnt mean 3 screens total. just 2 but it is kinda silly to put them right next to each other. id like to see a phone with on on the front and back instead of one on top of the other.
as for your edit young black, i have only 1 word. insurance.

Re: Nexus S vs Epic 4G

Right now our displays are glass (same screen as the continuum)..but its Gorilla Glass..so its not as fragile (not saying its indestructible though)..but the Super AMOLED 2 screens that will be thin film will be indestructible from what samsung is saying (of course be realistic..even if they say that I doubt you can block a chain saw with it or anything lol)

Now that would be indestructible... lol... guys? I think something like this would make it's way to the football teams in NFL... we would have better crotch cups to protect our groin with. (yeah rite)

You are mis-understanding..the screen is not indestructible cause its hard..its a thin-film instead of glass...so if you make crotch cups out of it the cup would not break..but that doesn't mean it will provide the intended protection you seek lol

um. I have insurance but not what I'm worried about... It's time I took to replace it for every time I'm not being too careful. I'm just "paranoid" though. not clumsy, to be honest I don't think I deserve a smart phone. But if the phone manufactures designed one to be indestructible I'd make an exception. I believe I owned more phones than Kat Williams in the past... yeah it's that bad.

Anyway back to the Thread topic:
here's a nice article comparing the two smart phones... if anyone's interested.

Interesting...well, thanks for the heads up. So if I'm out in the field and while getting my balls smashed, kicked or ran into.. The cup will serve the groin area as "scratch proof" protection, with a possibility of shattering into pieces and cutting yourself? That's a BIG ouch! am I right? lol

Samsung Nexus S vs Samsung Galaxy S - Pocket-lint

Luckily the epic HAS flash and a front camera, not noted in that review, puts them pretty much even.

Had a guy at a third party dealer tell me yesterday, after asking about the 2.2 update, that 3.0 was coming out for galaxy s on the 17th, but not putting much faith in that.

Sent from my Epic 3G on SERO.

no...as the saying goes...if a picture is worth a thousand words then a movie is worth a million:

YouTube - SAMSUNG flexible AMOLED hammer hit

As for on topic..its disappointing that Nexus S doesn't have a microsd card slot :/
