dont believe pdanet requires it but wifi tether does but wifi tether is free and its on the market.

Edit: Pdanet does not require to be rooted but the free edition limits you web access it will block mostly all https: pages you have to purchase the app to gain full access.

Wifi tether is free and does not limit any access.

Ok thanks. I am wanting to root but this is a work phone and they pay for it. but they wont pay for the teathering.

Root the phone. Install the wifi tether app which is free on the market and you wont have any problems with the company. If for any reason you would have to turn it back in then unroot first before you hand it in.

Ok I guessI can try that. I know there is a step by step method to installing the oneclick2.5.5 and clokwork over at xda but thier forums keep timing out all day is there the same simple instructions here

now that i upgraded to 2.2 with custom rom (supernova rom) i thought the gps lock was actually going to work. I turned it on and after 2 minutes with no lock i just turn it off. What gives am i supposed to something more

no i havent gonna have to do it tomorrow gotta go back from dk28 which i just upgraded to so maybe ill wait unless theres another way without having to do all that work

You can while use the GPS Status app to load up AGPS data manually..
