Re: Slingplayer
I also have this problem but its usually due to a bad network connection. Are you viewing over 3g, 4g or wifi? for best results use wifi.

Re: Slingplayer
I was having the problem with 4G. (and 3G too). Usually when I want to use Slingplayer, I'm somewhere that there is no wifi available like in the gym or at a restaraunt. (yeah, I know...how rude!) I've used slingplayer for Palm and Windows Mobile with much slower devices (Touch Pro II, Touch Pro & Treo 755P) and never observed this. I figured since it was a faster phone in all respects, I would not have this problem. Well, at least I know others are having the problem. Probably should contact Sling about this.....
I also forgot to mention in the original post that quite often the whole thing freaks out when I change channels. Frequently the screen will freeze while I'm still getting audio. |

Re: Slingplayer
How do you like the Slingplayer? Is it worth the investment? I have a camp that due to limited visibility I can't install a dish and was h thinking that I would use Slingbox to watch tv there. Of course I am limited since I can't use the hdmi out on my EVO but I was thinking of using it with my laptop connected to the HDTV in my camper. The rainy days stink with just 1 or 2 channels when you are at camp.

It really frosts my butt that I can't really use my slingbox OR use TV out with this phone. I can't understand why everytime I buy a phone, there are SO DANG MANY THINGS SCREWED UP AND/OR MISSING (missing like the FM radio, TV out, etc.). Seems like it's Sprint's fault a lot of times. If it weren't for their unlimited data plan, I'd probably bail from Sprint despite the cancellation fees. |

Re: Slingplayer
I love slingplayer. I use it on my laptop, phone, and other computers.
I have noticed the problem you have, but it's usually a signal issue. Most of the time it works great. Note that sling player is also dependent on your home connection, so if someone at your home is using the internet heavily, it can affect the feed as well. |

Re: Slingplayer
Keep in mind that if ISP's notice alot of upload activity, they might cap your upload at home thus creating this issue. Other factors that may come into play include load of bandwidth at the time you view (for ex. how many people are on 3g /4g in the area, plus if at home your on dsl, cable or fios and how many people in the neighborhood are using it as well). Sometimes its a matter of peak and off peak viewing. Viewing for me was always best over 4g / wifi on the epic. I have a broadband connection which is 15mbps down / 2 mbps up using a classic sling box (not a solo or HD box).
