Re: Slingplayer

does slingbox allow you to stream downloaded tv files or other files from "my videos"??? .... i.e.. divx, avi, etc to your phone?

i used to use orb with my touch pro. i tried the orb free as a trial and it looked okay. i saw a post from the community over there......
Orb Community - View topic - If Orb has no interest in fixing app, can I get a refund?
stating..........

I think I have the answer. I have a Sprint Galaxy Epic.

Sprint filters RTSP traffic through a proxy, and doesn't work with OrbLive. This is completely hidden from the user, and can only be managed via special service tech dial codes.

On the Epic, this is the procedure to disable the proxy:

##3282#
Select multimedia - enter your MSL
Change rtsp proxy to 0.0.0.0 and port to 0

After that, voila! OrbLive works great.

WARNING: The Evo dial codes are likely different. However, the same function is there in the service menus. Go to xda-developers.com and the Evo forum and search around... you'll find the correct codes for your phone.

if orb doesn't work that great and slingbox doesn't do this, what is the best way to watch recorded tv on your epic?

thanks,
johnboyinfl

p.s. need to change my signature line. have only had my epic for about a month.
