Problems with the capacitive back button on the bottom of the device

I noticed I am having problems with the capacitive back button on the bottom of the device. I have to hit it more times than normal which is annoying. I've had my phone for 19 days and I don't know if I should go exchange it. I played around with a friend's Epic and his back button works fine. His even has more vibrate feedback than mine. Anyways, I bought my phone from Sprint.com, how would I go to exchange it? Do I have to call Sprint or can they exchange it at the Sprint Store? Thanks

You can change the Haptic Feedback in settings..that said you can exchange it at sprint stores IF they have a system that allows online returns/exchanges..you should call the store your going to first and confirm if they have such system...unless you have TEP which you can then exchange at any repair center.

Thanks and yes I know about the feedback intensity setting, but that didn't fix the comparison to the other phone . Also I have TEP but what do you mean being able to exchange it in any Repair Center? The Repair site says my Sprint Store is a repair center, does that mean they have to replace it there?

Re: Problems with the capacitive back button on the bottom of the device

Do you have a screen saver on your phone? I have the same issue having to hit the back arrow more than once, but do have a screen saver that covers the entire screen including the bottom... I put the screen on immediately so initially I chalked it up to that, though if others are having the issue without screen savers, could be hardware related... it's not really annoying to me yet, but would be if it got any worse than it is now...

Well I had no problem getting mine replace from Sprint since it was defective from the start and now all my four captivate buttons work excellent.

Same issue. Went into Sprint and they did a hard reset without telling me and it did nothing. Not their finest moment of customer service.
I'm going to exchange for new phone.

Re: Problems with the capacitive back button on the bottom of the device

I'm having the same exact issues with my phone. This thing is only two days old, and the only problem I see with it is in regards to the back button. How did you guys get your phones replaced? Did you get Sprint to send you a new one or did you have to go to a repair center?

I'm having the same issue and the phone isn't a day old. It's 1a here and the phone isn't 12 hours old for another 2 hours.. lol.. Anyone find a fix for this?

There is no fix for this as its not a software problem but rather a hardware issue. I had to go to my Sprint store (Repair Center) which had to check it out before they replaced it.
