Re: Problems with EPIC, how do I get a new one

So now that the 30 days has come and gone, can I still take it to Sprint (or Radio Shack since that's where I bought it) and swap it out for another one? The menu key is not working worth a damn anymore.

Do you have insurance? If not only warranty you'd have is from Samsung themselves.

Also, a question, have you tried taking off the screen protector and seeing if it works?

Re: Problems with EPIC, how do I get a new one

Its not the screen protector. The menu button has always been tough to get to work since day 1, but since everything else worked perfectly - i.e. I have never had a single problem with my GPS - I figured it was no big deal. But it seems to be getting worse. I know it has a 1-year warranty through Samsung, I was just wondering if anyone has tried to use it. Do I have to mail it to them or can I do it through Radio Shack or Sprint?

Oh, and BTW - with the insurance they send you a refurb, not a new phone.

Well depends on whether you are lucky or not, though I think if you have BB insurance they give you a new one...but yeah..overall though if you had an issue that is hardware related you should always get it out of the way in the 30 day period. Reason I mention screen protector is I for now kept the in box screen protector with the text on it and when pressing the captive buttons through it, sometimes doesn't go through..so I just lift it and it works fine.

As for sending it to samsung, prob need to check with samsung support..they have their own support site...

There are a few options you "may" be able to get by with to try:

1) Have you tried "swiping" instead of pressing on the button? or do a firm press directly on the menu icon?

2) maybe it is possible to remap the menu key and and the search key idk

3) maybe it is possible to change the sensitivity of the capacitive buttons idk

4) Maybe try setting the buttons to remain lit will help:
