Music Controls on Lock Screen

I use my phone as an MP3 player for my car. On my HTC Hero, while playing music, the controls for "forward", "rewind" and "play/stop" were on the lock screen.

This was nice because while driving i could tap the power button and control my music without having to unlock my phone fully.

Is there anyway to integrate my music controls into my lock screen on my EPIC?

I figure this was a SENSE UI feature, but i really miss it.

Yes I have heard that "ASTRO Player", and "Lithium Music Player" , but both are paid apps. Lock 2.0 is also a paid app.

I just hate to shell out any money unless someone has tried them and can point out any pros or cons.

Maybe it was just wishful thinking...


EDIT: Using WidgetLocker to customize lock screen for default Android music player. Works great!

use 3 a.k.a. cubed music player it has an option in the settings to allow music controls on the lock screen. if u cant find it in the market go to this site and scan the qr code with barcode scanner. Android Quick App: “3″ or Cubed Music Player - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
