Re: Sprint Epic 4G

Doesn't seem that hard to implement, I am not looking forward to using Odin again though. Have they updated that or what? It's been a while since I have messed with a Samsung phone, I sold my Moment recently so I deleted all the files off my computer so I forget what version of Odin I was using.

I played around with the tmobile version at work- no lag at all after opening several apps- touch wiz was tolerable- however what blew me away was the screen- avatar looked incredible. I did not like the onscreen keyboard but that should not be a problem with the sprint version!!

Re: Sprint Epic 4G

Glad I held off from getting the Evo. This phone looks sweet. The main reason why I held off from the Evo was due to the fact of the tv out only being HDMI and only functional with certain things like pictures and Youtube. The Epic has tv-out through 3.5 mm headset jack and displays EVERYTHING you see on your phone like the TP2. I need to use the tv out for a variety of thing like my 7" in dash head unit for my car and I use it constantly with the Poker timer app displayed to a large screen tv on poker nights. That was a dealbreaker for me with the EVO.

Same here, it was really responsive, although I did get it to lag once, but I was trying. It took a lot. The screen was gorgeous. They had a Super Mario Bros. 3 live wallpaper running the whole time, looked sweet. Also, the guy at the store intentionally dropped it like 4 times to show how durable and scratch resistant the screen was. Not a mark! Sold! Sprint needs to stop teasing me lol.

I also hope the end is coming soon...I played with the ATT version and I was "WOW" the size 4.0 screen feels/looks good...happy medium. I am pretty sure I am going to use my upgrade that I been holding out since last oct on the epic.

Re: Sprint Epic 4G

Anybody know if the the screen tilts up like the TP2 with the keyboard open, or if it has a kickstand. Any confirmation on tv-out?

None of the pictures floating around of the Epic have a kickstand. On the spec page that was leaked the tilt screen was not mentioned, in the videos on youtube opening and closing the Epic seemed stiff with no gap between the keyboard and screen so I doubt it.

As far as video goes this is for the Galaxy S but still should apply to the Epic but yes it does have wired tv out, wirelessly, if your TV supports DLNA...

3.5mm to RCA TV out cable however, it does not appear to be HDMI

Well actually it can do HDMI out via micro usb port:

http://androidspin.com/2010/07/28/sa...t-on-galaxy-s/

The wire costs 50$ but it probably won't be too long till the Chinese copy it and sell it for like 5$ on ebay >.>

Crap! This is bittersweet...Does this mean that the Epic is going to have the 30 fps cap the EVO does? Did Samsung at least figure out that you only have to implement the cap if the hdmi cable is detected?
