As for the journaling thing, I hadn't thought of that as I (shamefully) haven't researched what that is, exactly :P Would that cause the type of corruption that would completely break the radio? (Regular, non-phone apps still seemed to work just fine...just anything that accessed the radio or trying to access phone settings kicked up the numerous errors)

I'll definitely do some research into other kernels, as well! It was just odd that it ran perfectly for that short period of time then died.

As further info, when it did boot up after reflashing to stock, it showed "unknown" under the baseband and hardware versions.

I guess what my real question is...if I start flashing our new phones and it should happen again...has anyone had the same issue and is there a fix for it! ^_^

PS--According to the guy at the Sprint Store, they did have a few of the EC05 phones come back after the update....so it may have to do with that particular radio update.

Anyway, thanks for all the feedback! I may just have to reflash and see what happens! (Though I'd like to avoid another $40 replacement charge! :P )
probably the kernel and make sure your not trying to use any pre EC05 backups but im guessing its the kernel. i never had your issues with this rom but i still switched kernels to make sure i dont plus i turned journal back on.

When you flashed to DI18, did you use the pit file?

Re: [ROM][ACS] SyndicateROM Frozen 1.1.0 (Takiya) :: EC05/1.3ghz/NoCheckboarding :: 3

Before flashing any new roms, I always revert back to the original DI18 using the Odin package:

Odin3+v1.61
victory_8G_100528
SPH-D700-DI18-8Gb-REL

Then stepped up to

SPH-D700-EB13-8Gb-REL

Next followed the instructions on the ACS forum and flashed this

acs-ec05-modem

And finished by flashing the actual Syndicate FROZEN Rom.

Had no errors, no red flags...Odin didn't even do its whiny fail with the colored screen and such....it was a "perfect" flash for both phones and they functioned flawlessly afterwards for about 2 weeks. Then my phone died. 5 days later, my roommate's died. My roommate's phone gets MUCH heavier use than mine, so if it were a data overload/corruption/etc, I'd think hers would have gone first! :P

In any case, I'm going do some further research over at the ACS forum and see what I can dig up!

Thanks again for the feedback, guys!

Ahhh, that makes me remember the old "Flash Dance" I used to do flashing Roms on my TP2!

Re: [ROM][ACS] SyndicateROM Frozen 1.1.0 (Takiya) :: EC05/1.3ghz/NoCheckboarding :: 3

Just bumping this thread. I did some reading over at XDA's thread and it seems others have had similar issues to what I've described (having multiple error messages and force closes). I wasn't able to get a real time-frame from the posts I read. I suppose I should register over there and ask.

EDIT: So I took the plunge and flashed this rom...this time it wouldn't load at all, so I reflashed to DI18 (after EB and EC didn't work). DI18 loaded, but gave me the familiar crashes and force closes...so I did some searching online and didn't find any answers on the XDA forum..or, rather, the answers they had didn't work. So I found a random site that had a step by step guide to returning to stock (no new information, really), but it linked to a different PIT file (which I've attached for convenience) with the normal DI18 full rel rom. After that, the rom installed perfectly and the radio worked again! I'll keep you all posted on whether I have any further issues! ^_^

Anybody having probs with MMS? I keep getting errors. I'm rooted on this rom. Says "MMS transaction is failed" (yes just like that lol). When I open the notifications menu it says "HTTP 503 Error : Service temporarily unavailable. Retry soon." But my wifes sprint phone works fine.

Ideas?
