Re: midNIGHT ROM DK28 (Froyo) v2.0.9 New Theme 12/23/2010

Also. Not sure if this has anything to do with the rom but the stock browser is realy slow. I'm typing on it right now and I'm faster than it. I gotta wait for it to catch up. Also the scroling is really slow. I have to move it real slow to move the page.
??

Yah. I used it a lot when I was on stock. Then 2.0.7 didn't work that well. And 2.0.9 don work at all..
Ohh and thumps p, I hope we can get that lock screen to work to show notifications.

Ok was just curious. You can always do the back to DI18 with working GPS and then flash back to 2.0.9. I can confirm it works for 2.0.9 after the process. Good luck.

Guys the GPS is fixed... The problem is some handsets still have issues. I would say for most people it is no longer an issue. Try installing SGS tools from the market and clear the GPS cache. I don't know what else to do because I cannot reproduce the problem. Odin back to DI18 and get a lock and then ODIN to DK28 then flash v2.0.9.. See if that helps. It seems once people get the first lock everything works from that point.

That's how it worked for me. Once you get the first lock on DI18 it seems to work across whatever rom you flash afterwards.

WidgetLocker is a winner. I have it set up and its very flexible. Still can't believe its not a standard feature.

I guess this gets back to bloatware. One person's must-have is another's meh. Better to keep the OS lean and let people customize as the see fit.

It's a paid app on the market, at least the one I tried was. No developer is going to include warez (cause that's really what it would be) in anything they develop. You guys want something like that and it's a free app let me know. If I get enough requests I'll include it in a future build. I added a page on my blog for Android Development (haven't done anything with it yet) but maybe it could be a place for requests. It would be easier then searching through the hundreds of posts on here.

There are also bandwidth restrictions I have. I've already gone through almost 200GB of bandwidth. I'll try and figure out a way to accommodate as many people as possible. I can also zip up .apks for easy installation. Maybe that would help.

But as said above, typically it's better to to build lean and let people customize. I don't like to assume what you want on your phone. I was actually going to release a build with as many AOSP app as possible. However, with the official release being 2 days away (if rumors are to be believed) and tomorrow being Christmas I figured I'd hold off and see what gets leaked...

I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.....

Same to you and your family. I pray for your situation. Thanks for your work. My wife is a cancer patient who doesn't get out much so playing with phones and roms provides relief from stress and boredom for me. You've been alot of help and relief for me. Thanks again.
