Re: Found "GPSToggle" for Titanium!
I've found some rather interesting bugs. These by no means are a deal breaker. They are minor, more irritating things. Everything still 'works'
Battery drains, but honestly, it's to be expected. While it's running, ie connected to gps (doin' it's thing), it messes with titanium. The transparent bar on the top will go to a non transparent bar (no biggie). Hitting the end key won't go back to cClock until you select another panel, but then it works until you check the CGPS panel (no biggie). This one is strange, when exiting out of a convo via sms, it'll go the home screen, but the bottom bar for sms stays, hitting end fixes it (more irritating than anything). Once you hit 'close' on the CGPS panel, everything goes back to normal (all bugs disappear). |

Re: Found "GPSToggle" for Titanium!
alot of folks are having success with just keeping the demo on the phone past the expire date, because they're not using gpsgate's functions. The initial setup keeps gps locked for free, supposedly forever

Re: Found "GPSToggle" for Titanium!
Are you all saying that if I tap on this panel I WILL NOT have to go through settings and into the phone tab to cut on gps? It would defeat the purpose to have this and STILL have to cut gps from 911 to location on. just curious. Thanks.

You only have to go to Phone > Services > GPS > Select Location On > Soft Reset ONCE. This allows installed applications to use the GPS radio; otherwise, it can only be used by 911 services. It does not actually turn the GPS radio on. After that, the phone is forever free to use the GPS every time an application activates it. Other applications, such as Google Maps, GPS Toggle (not usable on Titanium), and CGPS (Titanium panel) turn on the GPS and search for a lock. CGPS DOES activate the GPS chip and starts searching for satellites. Once it obtains a lock, it shuts off and then restarts every five minutes in order to maintain what I think is known as "warm lock." This is a compromise between a rapid battery drain due to constant GPS use and having to start from a cold lock when beginning Google Maps or some other GPS-enabled mapping application. This way, when you start Google Maps, or Bing, or GPS Weather Radar Pro, it gets a much faster lock than you would otherwise. |
