Got charged for VZ Navi after CF03

Never before did I get charged for VZ navigator when using CC02 and google maps. I have since started using CF03 and a cooked rom, I got my bill today and on it I am charged for VZW Navigator and I call them and they say using any mapping program will get you that charge. Is this true? Why did I just now get charged, I dont even have that program on my phone.

Yeah, that seems very wrong, call back and then climb the management ladder until you talk to someone that can explain things better (right...can I speak with your manager?)

That hasn't happened to me, either.

Re: Got charged for VZ Navi after CF03

PLEASE call back and get your point across. From my experience i have come to the conclusion that customer service reps are trained to lie and shoot down anything you ask about or have hopes for. Don't believe me?
Ask to speak to a supervisor
Guaranteed you will get the "He/She's not going to tell you anything different" laugh
and then you'll be put on hold.
Then the csr WILL come back with a partial solution. Tell him you still want the supervisor.
Csr will now come back seemingly scolded and ready to do whatever you need

Try it

do not be forced to pay for a service you are not using. I have everything except vznav (garmin, amaze, google nav etc.) and have never been charged for vznav.

DON'T tell them that you're using Google Maps or whatever. Simply inform them that you've NEVER used VZ Navigator.

No tell them that your using google maps. because its a free service. " can i speak with your supervisor" works like a charm.

Re: Got charged for VZ Navi after CF03

Okay I'll cal them today and get it taken off.

Thay also charged me for "mobile broadband 5gb" and said it was from teathering to my laptop but I've had my omnia for the past 5 months and this is the first month I got the charge. I thought that data was included in the smart phone data package, is that wrong?

Data is included in your Smartphone Web and Email plan but that is intended for data usage on the phone only, NOT tethering. On the Verizon branded software, you must also sign up for the tethering feature and use the VZAccess Manager software to tether, but you can work around this and use the Internet Sharing program and your regular smartphone data plan. Keep in mind this is technically against the ToS, but as long as you don't use it frequently for large files/webpages you should be able to fly under the radar. However, once you start using lots of data, they start to notice what you're doing. So either keep your usage low or sign up for the tethering feature.
