I emailed the president of VZW and received the following message back. I will not list the actual name of the writer but it is legit. WME where did you get this info? Are you sure it is legit? I REALLY hope it is. I will wait until November for the O2 but NOT JANUARY! LOL!!
Message I received:
Nick,
Thank you for writing Lowell McAdam, President and Chief Executive Officer of Verizon Wireless. Mr. McAdam has asked me to respond to you on his behalf.
Normally, Verizon Wireless does not announce the release of a device to the public until it has been tested and approved for use on our network. I am told that the device is being tested and awaiting approval for the release but will probably not come to market until sometime early in 2010.
As for your inability to get this information from our Customer Service Department, normally these representatives to do know about devices that are in testing or plans to offer new devices until the formal release information is provided to them. This way, we can set our customers expectations accordingly. The release of this information normally does not occur until a release date is determined and training is offered.
Thanks for your interest in the Omnia 2. I hope that this information is helpful to you and that you can defer making your purchase until the Omnia 2 is released.
Sincerely, ]]]]]]]

Frackin 2010, I'll be so pissed.
well doesn't matter to me...I'll wait...

Re: Image of Verizon Omnia 2

That note supposedly from the Verizon CEO should be taken with a grain of salt I think. It was a buzz a couple weeks but faded like just another urban legend. Unless somebody found some corraborating evidence, I would discount it. That certainly isn't Verizon's "company line" when asked about the release.

If you want to follow a thread entirely dedicated to the rumors of the O2's release, you might try Verizon's Samsung Omnia II forum. There are currently over 5,000 posts there with every rumor you can think of. The general consensus (FWIW) based on all known information is early November in stores and a week or two earlier than that online.

Well my problem is that I require (for my addiction) the HTC Touch Pro2 , the Imagio, and the Omnia 2. So which do I get first? Which is going to have the better resale value so I can play with it for a month or so , sale it and then get the next on the list

PhoneArena says Omnia2 on Verizon is rumored to be for sale in Mid October...... So thats today!

The Touch Pro2 is da BOMB. I had it for 2 weeks and loved it except for the fact that it weighs too much to carry around in your pocket. I returned it and though I'd go for the Imagio. But, the specs on the O2 show it to be the lightest of the ones you mention. So, until the Omnia 2 rolls out, I'm back on my Omnia, running Blazingwolf's latest WM7 Black 6.5 ROM and happy as can be until the Omnia 2 launches!!!

See and for me the weight doesnt have much to do with my decision, maybe because I holster and not pocket the device? If anything I would say I prefer the added heft of my Storm versus the light cheap feel of the Omnia. But in the end they have both been great , durable devices.

No new news or videos to feed my addiction to the O2 in the last few days, it's driving me crazy!
