Ok, now this I cant agree with. I was sitting in my room, with my brother who has the storm, and his google maps got a lock in seconds, not the general tower one, but with 4 satellites, while mine kept getting weak gps message. I even posted about it somewhere on this forum.

Edit: Here is my post venting about it from 8/11. I hope Im wrong, cause Im like Greenskeeper, I HATE finding out his phone does anything better than mine...

Re: Limited satellites with CF03

I've tried my brother's indoors and I get nothing. Though I can get a lock indoors with my Omnia if I've recently been using the GPS, in the same location. I can even watch myself walk around my house, but there's a good 10 second delay or so. Try getting a lock on the BB Storm indoors after a soft reset of the phone.

Re: Limited satellites with CF03

Does anyone get quick locks? Because my phone can take forever to lock onto a Satellite.
But worse yet. When it does lock onto something, i think it has the information inverted off this one satellite and It says i am off the coast of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean over 3500 miles from my destination. It can lock on that one satellite and stay there for a while until it eventually connects to everything just fine. But this can take 5-10 at a time.
I use Live Maps, not Google, because Live Maps can do SO MUCH MORE and much more easily than Google Maps. Like the Copy and Paste function. That's a BIG function for me, and its intergration into Outlook.

Yeah, my i910 with the stock rom takes forever to get a lock. After it does everything works fine, but man - I hate to wait.

Re: Limited satellites with CF03

I'm using the CC20 rom. I just got back from a 50 mile ride. My GPS locked in 20 seconds, then as I drove to my destination 40 miles away, I lost GPS tracking at least 5 times for about 4-6 minutes each time. The terrain was relatively flat on an interstate highway in Connecticut with a perfectly clear sky. . . . . . . Thank God I knew where I was going otherwise I would have zoomed by a couple of exits while the phone was looking for satellites.
