Again, if i gould get it to work for Vista 64 it would be sweet.
Then set the phone to 'Mass Storage', uncheck 'Allow USB Connections' in WMDC and then close it, then follow the UDML instructions I posted earlier. That's honestly all you need to do for a successful flash

you probably already thought of this, but did you brick both phones with the same computer? any chance the USB on this computer wasn't USB 2.0? USB 1.1 or 1.0 will brick phones.

yeah, same computer. This is going to sound weird, but is there software to upgrade to USB 2.0 or is a physical computer component? My computer is for 2002.

Re: New ROM help

no, it's hardware and not just drivers. not even sure how you'd go about checking it without some kind of diag like sandra. most people with usb 1 probably don't even know they have it.

when you plug devices into your USB, do you frequently get a popup that says something like "this device could function faster on a USB 2.0 connection"?

Look in device manager and if you have the word enhanced somewhere in the USB area then you should be set.

Mine says "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller".

Are you clicking the 'PDA' button in UDML?

Re: New ROM help

Ok so I tried that verizon upgrade from the link in this thread. Didn't work because it doesn't work with Win7.

Anyways.... I need the file of CF03 so when I'm in UMDL I can click the phone button, load the CF03 so it's flashed to CF03 and then I'll be able to load my cooked rom of choice... Help guys!

Yes it does. I upgraded and cook with Windows 7. Just run in Vista SP2 compatibility mode.
