i am an alltel customer, and in october(ish) i will be switching to verizon i was wondering if i should get the omnia, or wait to switch until the omnia 2 comes out, any and all opinions welcome

i would definately wait till the omnia 2 comes out! is there an ETA for it yet? i heard the gsm version is being released in the next couple weeks

I would wait for the Omnia 2. Though this phone is great...I am totally wanting the Omnia 2...from random rumor I hear the Omnia 2 should be out much longer after your switch anyway..

Wait for the Omnia 2, however.. you may be waiting for a while as I've heard the same rumor as Omega... it might be a while before we see anything here.

as far as a phone that has been developed, i would say the 1st gen omnia is the way to go, it has matured quite nicely, and there is a large dedicated group behind it.

that being said, i have an upgrade in my pocket (the non-tech girlfriend's to be honest)
so when the 2 comes out i will be getting one for, umm, testing purposes. but it will have to be reeeeeally good to supplant my current omnia.

the 2 will be chunkier than the current one, and i don't know if i will be able to live with that.
