Battery problem- drains and get hot

Have searched high and low to figure out why my Omnia battery drains and gets hot. Problem started 2 days ago, and noticed it was hot in standby mode. i tried to charge at home overnight and only got up to 80% after 6 hrs of charge. It was very hot while charging. I previously closed all tasks to make sure nothing was running in background. Power save mode is on and I had not changed any settings. So it looks to me like it is discharging either on its own (bad battery) or something else is running and draining it. I flashed to new ROM to free up GPS,; other than that pretty stock. I will probably go to verizon store to see what they know, but was not sure if they would check ROM and void warranty? Any battery ideas? thanks

are you using weather panel? thought for sure this was going to be a tp. lol

What color is your battery? It's either blue or black, and as I understand the black ones were the first ones shipped, but many of those were bad and Verizon would send another battery (blue) for free. I have the blue battery and I can easily go 2 days on a charge.

maybe you should hard reset or flash a new ROM... won't hurt, just back up all your stuff.

Battery is black.. it was working fine since I bought it in March. I am running weather panel for months but no problems until now. flashed to new ROM about 2 months ago and worked fine until now. i'll see if i can get a new batt from verizon tonite.

Hey Technewbie,
I had the same problem. I had flashed my phone to free up GPS and my phone would drain and get hot... I tried many different things to solve the problem and nothing worked. The only possible reasons that i could find was google maps was somehow draining my batt... but dont take my work for it. I solved the problem by reflashing it again. It should fix everything. My phone works great!!!!

Which rom did you use? I know alot of people experienced various battery drain issues in some of the cooked roms. If you are using cc20, the LATEST version of adryn, blazingwolf, or Bgills 6.5 roms, or adryns 6.1 v1.7 rom than you should be fine. I havent seen battery drain issues from either rom from any user. If you use one of these and you experience the same problems than you have something hardware related going on.

Stopped by Verizon store. they will ship me new battery w/in 2days. if problem persists, new phone. i did flash to CC20 ROM.
