I Think I'm Coming Back...
Incase you didn't know Look Here Real Quick
And Since i work for VZW and have employee pricing, I'm stuck with their phones now (long time sprint customer before)... So I want an Omnia (Which i'll find on craigslist or something) BUT I'm a lil iffy about the Media player capabilities... Anyone Have Mobile Shell 3? Hows the Media Player Widget work? Only WMP? My Storm does media (mainly music) very well and I use it alot. I wouldn't want to put that stuff aside going to an omnia. And how about battery life with medium to heavy use? Please tell me its better than the Touch Pro (Sprint). So to make it short, guys, please tell me what the REAL ups and downs of the omnia are, because i'm not a rookie to winmo (just check my rep) but I really don't wanna switch to a device that won't meet my needs which are basically media related (pics, vidz, web, some calendar stuff and music).. and is the camera really that good? I know its 5MP but it IS winmo ya know. I saw an Nokia N95 shoot video (5MP) at a rock concert and it completely BLEW MY MIND how crisp and clear it was! and like i said i will be getting mobile shell 3 so i'd really like to know how that pans out. Help me find myself again lol... What can i say... I miss my winmo.

Re: I Think I'm Coming Back...
The ToucPro 2 is not a big enough update for me. I've been looking at the Omnia Pro and Omnia 2. They look great, but Sprint wont get them.

Re: I Think I'm Coming Back...
sorry to to be able to help much, but i have a zune for my pmp needs. that being said, i have never had a problem using wmp. guess it would be something to put on the testing list. far as a phone goes, i like my omnia just fine, got my leak down to 5 mb in a day, and at the end of 2 days it stands at a little less than 6. (win 6.5 w/a m2d interface, good job bgill!).
all in all, i would have no problem recommending the omnia, there are a short ton of roms out there, to roll anyway you want. wouldn't happen to have copy of the new update rom for the omnia hangin around? you know, for testing purposes only, of course......

Re: I Think I'm Coming Back...
Thanks for the warning! lol
TP Sucks find a Vogue. You'll be much happier! No keyboard problems, less bulk, and better battery life! I'm sure no one will agree but I'm happy with mine. |

Re: I Think I'm Coming Back...
Why is every one telling this person to get an HTC device when he asked about the Omnia? Come on guys.
The Omnia comes with WMP and Touch Player installed. Neither one of them do things perfect but they are usable. The nice thing with Windows Mobile there are usually quite a few options. They range from free to commercial. Commercial programs can be CorePlayer, Pocket Player and many others. Freeware can be S2P, Media Center for Windows Mobile, TCPMP and many others. The software forum here has lots of different programs that should meet all of your needs.
