Re: Flashing Issues!!! UMDL

One more thing to try is a Hard Reset with Format. Remove your µSDHC card if you have one installed. Leave it out until after the flash. Hold down the Send and End keys by their outside edges and press the reset button with the stylus. A window will open asking you if you want to format. Lift your finger off the End key while still holding the Send key. After it starts formatting you can lift your finger off the Send key.

It sounds complicated but it's not. It might take you a couple of tries to get it to format. If you press the keys in the middle or inside the key housing flexes and makes the middle mouse key make contact and the phone won't recognize the Send/End keypress. Just press hard enough to make contact.

Give this a try, then another CC20 flash attempt. Good luck.

Ted

Re: Flashing Issues!!! UMDL

Finally got it working!!

After trying on different computers and countless hard resets, I decided to try to flash to a custom rom one last time before heading to Verizon and it just worked.

Thank you guys all for bearing with me through this...

What really makes this all comical is that I'm not all that crazy about WM 6.5, I like 6.1 beter with SPB3. I tried flashing to the latest Adynlyns 6.1 rom but the battery increments appear to still be in 20% increments and the I can't get GPS to work on google maps (in either 6.5 or 6.1 for that matter, and I've changed the Phone settings to Location On instead of 911 and soft reset). Missing something else? (theme of the weekend?)

Phone should not be bricked if reading that far. Sounds like a bad download or bad unzip. I think any more than one hard reset is a myth. Never had a problem thirty or more flashes never hard reset till after. Hard reset after seems to work well. Oh i never use internet explorer. I use Google chrome and never had a problem. Internet explorer always froze. Herd opera desktop is awesome too

Re: Flashing Issues!!! UMDL

Glad to hear that you did it. I originally tried to flash cc20 with my 7 year old lenovo workhorse laptop with usb 1.0. I didn't want to use Vista. It kept getting stuck on the Eboot. I finally used my new HP dv7 with Vista x64 and have done like 30-40 flashes with no problems. Welcome to the addiction!
