OK.. I checked out the Roms Update Section for Omnia and I see that Adrynalyne has a 1.5 rom out now! The GPS is unlocked in this ROM? I am assuming all the roms have the GPS unlocked. It's probably a dumb question but I had to ask. I can code(c ++/ c sharp/ vb.net..ect) although I never have for a windows mobile device before. I wrote a gps app for a laptop that is pretty cool. If I flash successfully and get the GPS working on my phone I will work on a GPS specific app that will do some cool things for windows mobile. And I will release it on here for you guys to have first.

MrOmnia81....as long as you flash to the leaked cc20 first all the ROMs after will have the GPS available to you. The leaked ROM is the one that actually unlocks the GPS, so you have to do that first. After that, anything goes (well....ROM-wise!!).

MrOmnia, like Syrguy said, you flash the leaked ROM first then determine which other ROM you want. LIke Adryn said in the ROM posts, the most recent isn't necessarily the best, read through the 6.1 and 6.5 posts and see what's different between them. I personally like his M2d 1.4 and haven't had problems at all, but trust me, if there's problems that are created by the ROM itself and not something that VZW did, these guys will get you straightened out. Good luck, it gets addicting...

I'll definitely keep that in mind... I am a sucker for the latest and greatest. You guys are revin me up to flash.... despite my nervousness in doing so. It seems simple enough, I guess I have to halt the net connection and turn off my printer and firewall. You just never know or can never be to careful. I call my omnia ..."my precious".

Re: Help!!! Ringtones sucking up Device Memory!

Just make sure that the phone is well charged and there's no reason for the computer to die and give it a shot. I typically flash from my laptop so that even if the power goes out the computer will still run!!! And knock off the "my precious" stuff... it's a PPC, use it likes it's supposed to be used!!!!

Re: Help!!! Ringtones sucking up Device Memory!

I flash from a laptop as well, another thing I have heard people do is unplug any other USB devices during a flash (probably not needed, but some like to play it safe).

Now...if you really like the 'latest and greatest'....and no offence to the other cooks, I just haven't seen anything like this out of them.....keep an eye on this:

Adrynalyne just released the first version of his 'extreme' flash:

From him:

Introduction of a modified pagepool. Pagepool has been set to 14mb for increased speed and performance of the OS, at the cost of a bit of program memory. Thanks goes to Shokka9 for teaching me the ways of the Samurai!

Re: Help!!! Ringtones sucking up Device Memory!

Wow.... I agree, nothing against any other cooks but all I've flashed to are Adryn's ROM's, have never had a problem flashing or an issue that he didn't know how to fix or get around, so I'll stick with his. My wife however may put a bounty out for him due to the amount of time I (and I'm sure many others too) end up playing around with the phone!! I'll take a look at the M2d 3.7 version this week, maybe tonight. I'll prob be PM'ing you questions about titanium panels, etc, as I have no clue about those at all!

Re: Help!!! Ringtones sucking up Device Memory!

You guys flatter me with your compliments. I see that my 6.1 roms still ring true

I have a version 1.6 out, but it should be noted that the battery life is most likely the best on 1.4.1.

1.6 is the fastest, and has a newer 1% battery driver.
1.5 has a 1% battery driver.
1.4.1 has the 20% battery driver.
