Re: timestamp on sms message off by 4 hrs?

What can I say? I've seen folk post about this for a while and always asked myself "What's wrong with THOSE guys?". All of a sudden I AM one of THOSE guys and my incoming are 4 hours off also.

Never had the problem since purchasing back in December until what looks like 6/17/09 or so. My logs show no problem before but problem after. By coincidence, I upgraded from Adryn's 6.1 1.5 to 1.6 on that date. I won't associate the two occurrences unless it's a common thread of those of us with the problem.

I also do not see a DST setting.

Cue the twilight zone theme.

Switch to a bogus timezone, tap ok all the way out.

THen go back in and switch it. That has fixed it for me every time.

What version ROM are you using, standard VZW or one of the cooks custom roms?

HKLM/Software/OEM/SMS

Create dword value called RECVTIMESTAMP then change the value from 0 to 1

I dont have an SMS folder and I cant find a way to create one in resco but from the dword title, i think you've got it figured out.

you have to create a Dword Value.. that will create the folder just make sure you have the SMS Folder Highlighted and then the New SMS Folder will be created within it.

It does work.. Ive done this on many Omnia already.

that's what i dont understand. I am in HKLM/Software/OEM and the only thing i see is MASD(folder) and Default.

there is no SMS Folder to highlight or open and when i click menu>new.. there is no option to create a new folder. only Key, string value, multi line string value, binary value, or dword value.

When i click Dword value, I can create RECVTIMESTAMP but it appears under the OEM directory since there's no SMS directory

Re: timestamp on sms message off by 4 hrs?

well my phone number is from a city in the pacific time zone but my phone's clock(and myself) is central. so all my incoming texts are on pacific time because, according to verizon, the pacific time is tacked onto the text when i receive it and i'm not going to change my number. if i can keep the phone from receiving the timestamp, it might be a solution to this weird issue.

Still, I tried and changing to a fake time zone didn't work for me
