Re: Keyboards!

Two questions:

1. Is there any way to use XT9 with 2.1?

2. Has anyone tried out SPB's keyboard?

Re: Keyboards!

Hey Omega, I put your skins in the folder like you said (for Fingerkeyboard), but it looks the same. Still has the same small as hell keys with the arrows in the middle. I have 2.1, for qvga, I put your skins in the Fingerkeyboard/Skins folder, it asked me to overwrite. Am I missing a step? Thanks!

Edit:

I think I got it, is yours missing the button that minimizes the keyboard? When I am done typing the message and need to hit send, how would I minimise the keybpard using your skin? Thanks for all your help!

Re: Keyboards!

Lol, T6, you just asked the same thing I did. I had already set my menu hard button to open and close the keyboard, so I guess it isnt a big deal, but I would have liked a button to minimize it. Other than that, so far I have to say that fingerkeyboard with Omega's skins are the best keyboard I can find at the moment. I was really excited to try the SPB full keybpard, but for some reason some of the keys wouldnt register my taps at all, and it ended up being more difficult than the others.

Re: Keyboards!

Oh I have mine set in the options to show bar, so I have the send key always showing...I had no need to minimize keyboard...

edit: one thing I did notice about my landscape...which I may fix if I get around to it and feel like it...no button to switch to numbers. but as the top row has the numbers and all I have to do it hold...we'll see if I feel like doing it lol.

I've tried out the SPB keyboard, worked fine registering my finger taps and I do like it quite a bit. SPB is great in landscape, especially when in full screen mode. Gives me the most room for my meaty thumbs of any of the keyboards. I also found SPB's word completion to be more effective for me than Samsung's XT9 system (hate how XT9 goes ahead and fills in the word it thinks you want automatically...it was getting it wrong more often than not)
Fingerkeyboard is cool, I find myself switching back and forth between it and SPB. Feels like the quickest and most responsive of all the keyboards. Omega, I tried out your skin. Love everything about it except for the issue that was mentioned above- I need a button to minimize the keyboard! I don't want the taskbar always there- with my thumbs I too often was hitting the send button accidentally when going for the z x or c keys. I did find a workaround, the "EN" key held down will switch the keyboard to number mode, and from there there's a minimize button. One last critique- I found myself constantly mixing up the backspace and return keys! Don't get me wrong, nice job on the skin Omega, I 95% love it, just giving you some feedback!
