Best Omnia Screen Protector?

I should have my Omnia on Tuesday or Wednesday and was wondering what everyone out there is using for screen protectors?

I know Zagg makes the Invisible Shield which I hear is really good. My problem is that I hear they are a pain to install and if you mess up you are SOL.

I have had good luck with BoxWave screen protectors in the past. I was using the Clear Touch Anti-Glare on my XV6900. It left very little finger prints and was much better when viewing the screen in sunlight. Although, I'm sure it gave up something in the quality of the picture. BoxWave also makes the Crystal Clear protectors which don't degrade the quality of the screen, but I imagine they will leave finger prints.

If anyone is using any of the above or ones that I didn't mention, please chime in. I want to get them ordered over the weekend so I have them early next week. Thanks.

Re: Best Omnia Screen Protector?

I got nothing to add really... but I did just place an order 30 seconds ago for 2 of the ZAGG invishields for me and the wife. Looks like a pretty good product. I'll put up a review once they arrive and I get them installed.

Re: Best Omnia Screen Protector?

Invisibleshield is incredibly easy to install, just make sure you spray both sides of the shield, your hands, and make sure you are in a dust free area and using a lint free cloth. Make sure the Omnia screen is spotless, of course.

Super easy to install. If you put enough solution on the shield, you should be able to put it on, then slide it into place. Spray the top once more, squeegee it off, let it sit for 12-24 hours, TURNED OFF. Air bubbles will dissolve within 1-2 days.

Super easy to install. Now I have no experience with the full shields, just the screen shield.

I've installed one on an LG Dare, and one on an HTC G1.

Thart said, I use Ghost Armor, but it works the same way. It just doesn't have the orange peel look.

I got the ZAGG invisible sheild...its pretty good I got the Full Body cover but I think it was a bit too much...

You lose the nice "shiny" look that the Omnia has when u put it on...Its a little complicated to put on...it comes with a spray that I think is filled with water...lol...and you have to wash ur hands and then spray ur fingers and hands with the afore mentioned "solution" and make sure u don't get any fingerprints on the adhesive side of the plastic...

make sure the area where you installing it has no dust, lint or debris around
and no fans blowing drying the spary solution off ur hands...

other then that its pretty good...I recommend just getting the front shield and a silicone cover for the back

Re: Best Omnia Screen Protector?

I had the full body invisible shield on my glyde. After my 3rd replacement it was cake to install and the thing is definitely indestructible. I just ordered a full body for my Omnia and snagged it for $12.49 with a 50% off coupon and I convinced my friend with a g1 to get one too by dragging a steak knife over it and it was spotless.

Does the invisibleshield allow for taking off the battery easily?

Re: Best Omnia Screen Protector?

I use the CS protector, and so far it works great!! I wanted invisibleshield, but the two days off and complicated install diretions shyed me away from it. I got CS from ebay for about $7 and it went on in a couple seconds with a fine coat of water. I only did the screen, and it gives a nice 'tactile' feel to it!!

Has anyone else noticed the orange peel effect on the Invisible Shield products? I want to order something tonight and I'm tossing between the Zagg product and the Ghost Armor.

Any more insight anyone?

Re: Best Omnia Screen Protector?

Wow, I must be the cheapest S.O.B. to ever live... I went to Walmart, spent $4.99 on an pack of IPod Touch screen covers. Then I grabbed the scissors, and about 30 seconds later I had a screen cover that fit perfectly on my Omnia . Before I put it on, I used it as a template for the other dozen covers in the pachage, so I've got enough for years of use. They work great and were really easy to apply. Heck, the package even came with a microfiber cleaning cloth to get the screen all cleaned up before installation

The orange peel isnt as bad after a few weeks. It'll never look perfectly clear but it looks especially crappy the first few days you have it on.
