Turning off Battery Charge sound?

Is there any way to set the phone to NOT play that annoying sound at 3:00 in the morning when my phone finishes charging, waking me from an otherwise peaceful sleep?

I know I can put the phone on vibrate, but then I'm afraid I'll either forget to turn the volume back up in the morning or I will miss an important (emergency) call since this is my only phone (no land-line).

Any tips?

Re: Turning off Battery Charge sound?

settings>system>motion sensor> etiquette pause.

what this does is set the phone to detect if its face down, when face down it wont make any noise EXCEPT for wakup alarms... so if you rely on those it will still get you up.

there are other solutions, which have been posted in another thread...i think in one of the stickies at the top.

Thanks, but Etiquette mode doesn't allow the phone to ring out loud. This is my only phone and we have sick relatives. I need to hear the phone ring in case of emergency.

Re: Turning off Battery Charge sound?

this is my concern also, I want my phone to ring and to be able to hear it, so shutting off the sound completely, flipping it over, etc, don't work.

i know I can edit the wave file to a blank file, but use those alerts for other things.
it seems that there should be some reg setting somewhere that can be modified, but I have yet to find it.

so for now I charge my phone before bed and then unplug it.

my battery life hasn't been an issue so I haven't seen the need to leave it on the charger all night.

Re: Turning off Battery Charge sound?

I'll put in another wishful vote for finding a fix for this. I'm going to try and blank wave file swap for both this alarm, and the low battery notify alarm. It just blows my mind that Samsung made this phone without the ability to actually turn it's sounds off. (What don't you get about OFF?!?!?!)

Re: Turning off Battery Charge sound?

hey guys...there is a fix for the "charge complete" notification is located in the Omnia problems and solutions thread, that is stickied up top...

be sure to search before you post a new thread about things that have already been discussed... heres the link below in post 122 I have the two files u need to replace to either eliminate or quiet the sounds...

they haven't found a way to make it NOT play the sound yet....what I did was change the sounds to sounds that were much quieter and thus can't wake me in the middle of the night...

FYI - I did search. I read the thread. But simply "changing the sound to a quieter one" is a band-aid, not a fix.

In the mean time, I will try the "blank sound" fix and see how that goes. Did you guys just replace that file with a custom one with the same name, or is there somewhere that you can pick which sound is played for it?
