Re: Mass Storage/Active Sync Transfer & Play Back Problems
I am a noob, but I do know that files this size can only go on the SDHC.

Re: Mass Storage/Active Sync Transfer & Play Back Problems
/sigh
I asked if it was the SDHC or internal memory, not the main memory. Give me some credit, whicle giving yourself the same? Try this. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=48801 I am sure you also understand the whole class 2, vs. 4, vs. 6 thing too, so if its a class 2 card.... |

Thanks a heap. You, if no one else, always seem to want to help me out. Much appreciated. I should have been clearer. I was talking about the internal 8 gig. This situation is beyond ludicrous now. I tried a standard back door to my transferring problem. I sent a 400 mb file via blootooth. The bluetooth was a bolt of lightning for the for 50 mb's. Then it slloooowwed down considerable. It took from 5:30 am to 11 am to complete he transmission. But wait, there is more. Ok, after I finally got it on the phone and tried to play it it was choppy in TP and WMP. I t jut is not working for me no matter what I do. I have not been able to watch a movie on this phone, that I transfer, since I got it 3 weeks ago. Anything I download is great (although I with I could spreed that up as well). Here is the puzzling part. Because I don't have an new computer there is no high speed port. When I connect the phone via cable to transfer I can NOT take advantage of the "Enable advanced network Functionality" option under USB to PC setting. The phone will not auto sync or connect with this enabled. I have to leave he button unmarked. I don't know what functionality is lost because of this, but like I said before, with the other phone I took back, I did not have any of these delays or video playback problems. |

Re: Mass Storage/Active Sync Transfer & Play Back Problems
That particular feature is buggy, so a lot of people have to end up disabling it--maybe it has to do with age of computer vs brand of USB ports and drivers. Not sure there.
As for the USB speed issue, its rough not having USB 2.0, I can't really relate to ya there, or help. Do understand that burst speed is prevalent with both USB and bluetooth and the amount of compression, as well as type can make a difference in transfer speed. I think it should be noted that while I dont have proof, I believe the internal storage to be class 2, which means transfers are going to be ungodly slow. I know my class 4 8gb card I have installed as well is faster. Lastly, the Samsung Touch player is a joke. While it may be able to play divx video, its so damn choppy. I really reccomend you try something like CorePlayer. Do note that there are some option changes you need to make, such as setting it to Xscale in the video options. I get incredible video via Coreplayer. I dont use wmp at all. I use my class 4 8gb card for music and video, my internal storage for download storage and program installation. It seems to be the best mix of speed and performance for me. Last edited by Adrynalyne; 02-01-2009 at 01:40 PM. |

Yeah, I have had this computer since 01...i know. However, it has been reliable and as i stated earlier, this process actually worked and was beyond efficient about a month ago when I had the other Omnia I had to take back. The virus I just had really did some damage and I found out how antiquated my system is. I am going to get a new laptop in the next two week. I have not shopped for one in oh....7 years. Do you know if most laptops come standard with high speed data ports? Secondary question, does Coreplayer play mpeg files and flv files? |

Re: Mass Storage/Active Sync Transfer & Play Back Problems
Not sure about flv files...but youtubeplay does that nicely. All laptops today come with high speed ports so no worries there.

Re: Mass Storage/Active Sync Transfer & Play Back Problems
i would honestly try to get another replacement from vzw. it sounds like something might be messed with your device...
On another note i would try tcpmp or core player, and see what results you get.

Re: Mass Storage/Active Sync Transfer & Play Back Problems
I may be more inclined to go the route angel12 mentioned (unless you want to wait and give the new laptop a shot)....it does sound sound like there is something other than PC post speed-limits going on there (don't know what it could be though). Have you tried the same experiment on another PC/laptop to see if it was your computer or the Omnia?
Just curious though....angel12 and Adrynalyne....I tried CorePlayer ant it couldn't play in landscape...was there a setting that had to be changed, or did I just get a bad file in there somehow? |
