Re: Need some advise from the Omnia i910 gurus
Yeah, I will upload them.
In short, this is how I did it. I installed iContact via the cab file. I went into the options (under your programs), enabled the options for it to exit on minimize, etc, and set the default tab to Contacts. I then downloaded the zip version of iContact and unzipped it to a different folder. From here, I went into its options (under the unzipped folder), enabled the same things, EXCEPT for it to default to Call History. Same app, same version, two different copies, neither will run at the same time or conflict. I installed both to My Storage, and they weigh in at about 600k between the two. Not elegant, not efficient, but it WORKS! Alright, for the files. Both get copied to \Windows, but note that the calllog.run file must match the appropriate path for your Call History copy of iContact. |

Not sure what I need to do to make the run file match the file path for the call log history. Can you help me out here?

Open the .run file with a text editor, like notepad, and just modify the path. If you give me the full path to it, I will do it for you, if you need me to.

I just saved the second iContacts file (zipped) to My Storage. When I tried to install it I get a pop up stating if I want to replace the existing program. Not sure what I am doing wrong. |

Re: Need some advise from the Omnia i910 gurus
I too find Today 2 to be the home screen that makes me happiest. It's simple and has most everything I need. Paired with Green Button to remap the "call" button and a Soft Key map to remap your soft keys, it's really great. I also set my "menu" button (upper right on the Omnia i910) to go to the Task Manager.
I would REALLY love to be able to change that ugly Today 2 screen clock, though. It takes up sooooo much space. Even if it has to take up all that space, could it at least look cool (maybe the HTC flip clock?). Anybody figure this out yet? Seems like there are a lot of people looking for a solution to this. Also, to those talking about the call logs, etc... I suggest you try PocketCM. I'm in no way affiliated, but I did write a review after trying it out and loving it. The screen transition animations are awesome, it integrates SMS, call logs, etc... and is just a really fantastic, well thought out little (free) app. Seriously. Check it out. I've got it set to replace my default contacts, SMS and dialpad altogether. I do highly recommend updating to the Dark Diamond II v_0_3 theme (on the apps theme page) once you install it though. Without going to a shell replacement or pay-only interface, I really think a tweaked Today 2 screen is the way to go. Hopefully somebody can fix that awful clock, though. |

Re: Need some advise from the Omnia i910 gurus
SMS aside, can you break down the advantages of Pocket CM over iContact?
Regarding the clock, I have succeeded in changing the color of the numbers....one time. The next time, the file wouldnt even load and crashed my phone. I'm stumped why I can't do it. I am using iContactBE, and have it replacing my call log and contacts. Last edited by Adrynalyne; 02-21-2009 at 11:55 PM. |

If it is... I'm not having any success. I put both files in the \windows directory using Resco File Explorer. I've tried a couple different iterations of the file path: \My Storage\Program Files\iContact\iContact \My Storage\Program Files\iContact\icontact.exe No luck with either one. When I pull the "properties" for the executable file, it just shows the name as "iContact". Ideas? |
