Re: Unlock your Samsung Omnia

you would not need to unlock it and yes it will work. qpst is your friend so that you can change the prl and sid and put your number and esn (its how alltel authenticates your phone) under ppp config and then the an tab then to your right and type your number in at the user name yournumberhere@alltel.net then password is your hex esn displayed at the top. if you have no idea what i am talking about just get an alltel phone. the touch pro is nice and so is the diamond.

Re: Unlock your Samsung Omnia

your prl should be 30040 because of the verizon alltel merger they have changed it 4 times that i know of but you can go to corolada prl webpage and get the 30033 and that will work just fine till you do a *228 and update it. the sid is area specific so you can call alltel advanced technical support by calling 1-800-alltel1 or *611 or 611 from your phone. choose option 3 3 times and then hit 0 and it will take you to them and they are active 24/7 and know more than the average employee

Re: Unlock your Samsung Omnia

From the description on the Ebay page, it does not sound like the person unlocked the phone. They just deactivated it. They state that you can activate it on Verizon Wireless, so I'm gunna guess that its still locked to VZW.

For some reason, every time I change the username and write to phone, it resets back to the vzw3g.com username. I'm trying to change it to xxxxxxxxxx@alltel.net.
Changes on other tabs seem to save just fine.

Go to the registry, HKCU\System\State\PHONE, and wrote down the first 6 digits of the value of the IMSI entry.

2. type the first 6 digits of the value of the IMSI entry here.
3. type your new NCK (1234567, then OK
3. type *#7465625# to check your lock (network lock still enabled)
4. type #7465625*638*# and type your NCK (1234567
5. enjoy.

This is a GSM hack... Here is the original thread from XDA...
Noob question again: How do I get into the registry?

It's not a problem... Remember... We all start off knowing nothing and build our knowledge base up... I recommend going here for a basic tutorial on what to do...
