I use the standalone program taskmgr.exe. It has a registry editor built into it.

I wonder if it's because the omnia shows up as an unknown phone. I'm using surf6100-zrf6155 as that's what someone on another thread used. Maybe there is a better phone to base from.

Re: Unlock your Samsung Omnia

So now after me reading up about Reg edit, is there a specific one you guys prefer or is it just up to me to go with one of them?

There's nothing wrong with trying 2 or 3 different programs and seeing what suits you better. For me, I liked taskmgr, because it is a stand-alone executable (I don't have to install every time I hard-reset) and it includes a bunch of useful little applications (drop-down at the top-right). If you have a .reg file that you just want to import, then I would recommend the registry plug-in for resco file explorer. I would recommend resco file explorer, first, though.

Re: Unlock your Samsung Omnia

try writing it to the phone without reading it first. also try different versions of qpst that may work. i had a problem with a phone not taking it and i just wrote it without reading and it stuck i use qpst 215, 264, 301. also howard forumns or mobile files might have the i910 dll for samsung pst. do not use the lite version though.

Re: Unlock your Samsung Omnia

Unlock?
In case you didn't realize, that's for the i900 (gsm version). I think it's required for the sim card to work with a different carrier's phone.
I don't think this has any bearing for us verizon (cmda) users.
That I've found, the omnia doesn't need to be unlocked to activate it on another cdma carrier. Also, custom roms aren't installed in the typical htc fashion, so the phone doesn't need to be unlocked for that.
