Not waking up with S2U2

I have woke up a couple of times and noticed that I had a bunch of text messages that I had missed. I didn't think much of it, just figured I hadn't woken up.

This morning I had a voicemail but no missed calls. I think my i910 isn't waking up all the time for all the calls.

I have S2U2 installed and pTravelalarm (and pTravelalarm Wakeup Tweak).

Anybody know any settings to ensure that it wakes up?

Re: Not waking up with S2U2

well if you find a way let us know... some want to disable the wakeup.. lol anyway
the 2 apps you mentioned could be the issue. best way to tell is un-install & test.
otherwise I would say lower your slot cycle in epst so the phone is notified sooner and therefore has more time to wake up and "process" the call.

edit; I don't use alarms (only occasionally do I use a regular alarm clock) but I hear that G-Alarm has been working well for many

I really don't want to do that because I use pTravelalarm to wake up every day. This is what the pTravelalarm website says about the wakeup tweak:
Wakeup Idle Timeout is the number of seconds that the system will spend in the resuming state until going back to sleep, unless it is brought to full power. If this value is too small, the unit may go back to sleep before finishing it's startup processes.

The recommended value for the Wakeup Idle Timeout both for when the unit is operating on battery power and when it is connected to AC power is 60 seconds. The default is 15 seconds.

Re: Not waking up with S2U2

not a joke, more a chuckle... (sometimes bugs = feature )

the timeout tweak is part of the reason I suggested a different alarm app that doesn't require it.

but since you haven't done the following I would try it first.
Quote:
• Dial ##778 (PST) on your handset and press Talk
• Enter the security code (000000 on Verizon)
• Choose "Modem Settings" off of the PST menu
• Change "Slot Cycle Index" to 0, or 1. This value is 1.28 seconds * 2^N, where N is the index. A value of 0 will give you the fastest tower polling, but most people stick with 1 to avoid excessive battery usage and flooding the network.
• Click OK and you will be prompted to soft-reset your handset.

Re: Not waking up with S2U2

Ok, two things.

1.) I have switched to G Alarm (should I set the Wakeup tweak back to the 15 second default?)

2.) The ##778 code doesn't work on my phone.

Re: Not waking up with S2U2

i'm not familiar with the tweak, so I couldn't say for sure. also I don't have verizon so I guess, I'm not sure the best way to tell you how to get to EPST. some roms/cabs will put shortcuts in your startmenu... you should be able to find help on getting to that with your setup.

Re: Not waking up with S2U2

I'm searching the forums now. I did find that it might be my Samsung dialer skin that is keeping me out of the EPST menu. So I'm trying to figure out how to disable that.

Re: Not waking up with S2U2

Ok, I took the samsung dialer skin off and went to the default, but the ##778 code doesn't work.

I can't figure out a way to enter the EPST menu.
