Crossing fingers!!!

How long did it take for the i900 to get its first update? Arn't they on their 3rd now?

I called in to Samsung USA (who apparently know as much about this phone as I do) and a level 3 tech said that an update would be here out in two weeks.

That was 4 weeks ago.](*,)

The thing is, the i910 ROM has most, if not all of the fixes that the official i900 releases provided. Now for beta ROMs, thats not the case.

So, its not like we have to climb out of the same hole that i900 users did.

True, but, if we are still experiencing lags, bugs, minor inconveniences that should have been ironed out already its still a tad irritating. We are not in the same hole, but a hole nonetheless.

I guess I am not experiencing those issues, aside from those I created myself ;)

CDMA and GSM phones are quite different so I don't really see how they could foresee the "inconveniences" ur talking about, its almost like 2 totally different phones, which is why I900 roms screw up the I910, I'm sure they ran into a whole new set of problems along with the ones the I900 already had...I don't know I guess we live in a world where folks just can't be patient with technology, even when its NEW, we are essentially their "beta" testers for their CDMA version, the word is out and work is being done I'm sure to correct the problems that can be corrected...

I learned my lesson the hard way when I ran and got the Palm 700w...that sucked total arse...! only to see the 700wx with more ram and rom come out and couple months later...

if you don't really know much about Winmo, its not a great idea to buy a phone thats new to the market and lacks the support enjoyed by devices that have been out almost a year or two...

anyway there is no money in a perfect phone...so some thing may never get fixed 100% just good enough for us to tolerate till the new model comes out...

Yet another first time user here with a slight problem. Currently I'm on my third Omnia and I've been with Verizon for less than a week. Like many others I've been having memory issues where it'll say the internal 8 gig flash drive is full even though it isn't. When using File Explorer to look for what is causing the sudden increase in storage there are no obvious culprits. The techs at Verizon have no idea what is wrong and I haven't been using Opera or VZ Navigator to have those two program dump excessive amounts of cache either.

Coming from just a pc background there is no reason that the Omnia should magically fill up the storage overnight.

Use Mobile Monger. Install it, scan the particular storage area, and post a screenshot.

remember that ur "8gb My storage" is separate from ur phones internal memory, then u have ur storage card that u put behind the battery door....

using PIE, opera, downloading email attachments, installing software and games all take up a lot of space on the internal memory, make sure u install everything u can into ur "My storage" directory...not on to ur phone memory, most programs give u a choice, when installing.

After doing a bit of research it seems there is an issue with the Touch Player. The reason wasn't given but when you update your media on it it'll erroneously fill up the storage drive used for the music and will place the extra space in that file. The work around is to only use the Windows Media Player. Apparently this is a known issue to Samsung.

I knew there had to be something going on with Touch Player (for the life of me I still can't get it to identify anything not on the main device memory...I don't know why), I guess we can add that to the list of things we can hope gets addressed in the update that is supposed to be out soon.
