By the way, not knowing much about your device, a hard reset will return things back to original settings. |

Re: Wifi can't turn on!!!
I think I can answer this dilema (hopefully in time to prevent a hard reset)...One question.....
'Did you install VZappzone?' I am willing to bet the answer is 'Yes'....if so...uninstall it and after the device does an automatic reset after uninstalling....try wifi again....bet you get it going!!!! VZW doesn't seem to have tested their own apps too well...after you install Appzone it seems to knock wifi out!!! Hope this helped!!! |

Re: Wifi can't turn on!!!
I have AppZone installed and can turn wi-fi on. However I'm not doubting that AppZone can cause issues. However, I did have the same problem before and what I changed was that I turned off enable wi-fi power save mode in the power settings. I think overall the WM image that verizon puts on the Omnia is buggy. I have everthing turned on that I had problems wtih before and still can turn on wi-fi. There is no rhyme or reason with the issues I have seen so far.

Re: Wifi can't turn on!!!
I've had the problem with wifi and bluetooth not being able to turn on or shut off. A simple soft reset fixed the issue, and it has only happened very intermittently.

Re: Wifi can't turn on!!!
I didn't mean to imply wifi is ALWAYS disabled when VZapps is installed, but it is a common issue with a lot of users in other forums. In fact...right before I posted this earlier, I had a friend at work with his day-old Omnia that had the same issue described in the first post...to the letter. I had him un-install VZapps, and wifi is up and running!!!
So...where it may not be the rule, I would definetly look there before a hard reset!!!! The power-save settings are a good place to go as well!! |

Dude you are a friggin genius. I have been trying to figure out what it was and you were right. Dang Verizon is stupid. Its funny how the guys on forums are smarter than all the paid Verizon staff all over the country put together. The Verizon tech told me to hard reset to get it to work. Heck with that. Thanks for saving me the headache. |
