Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
Why can't my phone keep the right time? When I disconnect from broadband it automatically changes my time. Also is the another way to display the time without selecting it in the today menu? I don't like the widget either because I haven't figured out if I can customize it or not.....would reading the instructions help? :)

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
Hi all
This is my first post so please forgive me if I do something wrong! I have an Omnia but the touch screen bothers me, I cannot use my fingers to type with the "keyboard" settings as the letters are too small and not accurate enough even for my tiny thumbs! Even when I "write" using the stylus, I find that I have to press extremely hard to be accurate, and certain parts of the screen seem to have almost worn out, I am forced to use my screen in a landscape way as the part of the screen nearest the bottom (when portrait) is VERY inaccurate to touch. I do use a screen-protector obviously to avoid scratches, etc but surely this shouldn't make too much of a difference? The thing I would like to know is has anyone else experienced this problem, or is it perhaps a once-off manufacturing fault and I need to have it repaired by Samsung? Thanks so much! |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
ronittie...welcome to the community, and I know what you mean about the keyboard!!! I am assuming since your just starting with it your using the keyboard that came with the Omnia. I would suggest using a third party keyboard. There are a few suggestions I would give you.
There are two great ones that cost $: SPB has a full-screen mode with their keyboard: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/fsk/ RESCO gives a lot of finger-space on theirs: http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/keyboard/ Or you can use Finger Keyboard2 found right here in this community, is free, has many skins, and is pretty easy on the fingers as well (I use this one currently): http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...inger+keyboard (I have used all of the above, they all work great, and all are 100% better than the stock keyboard (that I can't use at all)!!!!) Good luck |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
I have found that with all of the keyboards i've tried (and i've tried them all) that the samsung keypad is the one i've grown to love. Second to that, fingerkeyboard 2.1 is really nice, just too small for my chubby fingers.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
I like to use the samsung keypad when in portrait and the regular samsung keyboard in landscape. Omniasip allows this to happen automatically... but I've had problems with it on recent roms... not sure why... just stopped using it, for now.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
I've always had problems with OmniaSip, it locks up alot.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
Here's my huge problem!
I flashed a rom on using the UMDL way and now my Omnia is stuck on flight mode. Can't do *228 or anything. I dialed #43574357* to bring up device info. PDA Version is s:i910.1.ov.cfo3.20961. Phone version, phone number, meid, system id,channel,esn,prl/eri,technology and network all say N/A. I went to settings->system->version and rom version, modem version,h/w version, prl version, wdc all say N/A also. Is my phone bricked/dead or can it be revived?!?! |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
Don't post the same thing in multiple places please. I answered in your other thread.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
Okay, I have an issue and maybe I over looked this but I know it has been discussed before and I've done a search and can't seem to find any relations.
Im on Adryn's CF03 2.0 and the ONLY issue that I ever have is with my keyboard. The letters 'A' and 'Q' are an effin hassle!! Its like the calibration is off and no matter how many times I reset, adjust, or calibrate, it will not be corrected! I am very annoyed as I do alot of texting. I've even tried different keyboards and still NOTHING!! Someone PLEASE help me with this!!! |

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
I have tried to connect my Omnia and my nokia 6205 through bluetooth. I get it to pair correctly, but when I try to connect it, it says cannot connect!
Here is the exact error: Your device did not connect with Nokia 6205. The connection failed or the passcode is incorrect. What is weird is that from the nokia phone I am able to go into my omnia and download files. I have tried re-paring a lot of times even with different pass keys and nothing is helping. I would really appreciate it, if someone can help me. |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
Hi i am new to the community and i have a problem with my omnia i910, i am on wm 6.1, when i go to windows update and i check for updates i get an error msg "Connection to the update server is not available. Check your data connection setting and ensure the device data and time are correct." I dont no what to do from here, if there is no way to fix this is there another way i can upgrade to wm 6.5?

Yeah to upgrade to 6.5 you will have to flash a custom ROM. Make sure that you have the latest upgrade from Verizon.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
all of a sudden, within the last week or so, my omnia won't stay asleep. Once on it will put itself back to sleep, BUT when it's in my pocket, the screen action keeps it awake and drains the battery. I've checked task manager and nothing is running. I've checked my settings for wake up and it is on power button only.
No messages, text, missed calls, emails, or other notifications are indicated upon wake up. Just an odd mystery. Updated ROM, Adry's latest ROM, Potential culprits: Google Maps, Bing, GPSweather, SPB mobile shell, Opera, MSN money, MSN weather, and many many more apps. On the other hand, if would just use up all of it's energy and die the day the II comes out, I'd be just as happy. Until then, any ideas???? |
Omnia I910 flash to metro
my omnia i910 is flash to metro and I would like to know how to make my tether work. Please help.

I have searched the forum, but with the terms I am searching for, there is so much information to browse through, and I am an old man and all that.
I have set up my new Omnia i910 to my liking, including tethering. There is almost every question and issue on this forum and I have really been able to set the phone up thanks to the information here. The phone already came with the Samsung ROM version listed in another thread here, the update from Samsung that unlocks the GPS, which I have working with Google Maps and GPS Weather Radar. I can even install widgets, although I have yet to find any. Bear in mind I have done nothing other than install HTC X Button, Skyfire, Palringo, and a few games. Other that that it is exactly as it came from Verizon. I have two issues I cannot seem to resolve. Question One: When I set the phone to Auto Answer (I drive a lot and use the Bluetooth headset) there is this persistent notification I cannot get rid of. If I restart the phone it returns. It takes over my left soft key which I have customized to "Contacts". It simply will not go away. I tried the registry key trick found here, and I am sure I have gotten rid of the charged notification, which also would not go away without a reset. However, it doesn't work for the Auto Answer notification. How can I get rid of this notification? I don't want or need to see it, but the ability to dismiss it would be wonderful. Question Two: The Weatherbug widget just suddenly stopped working. If I drag it to the "desktop" of the phone, the loading icon just stays, and it does not appear, nor can it be clicked on. It was working when I went to bed last night, this morning, it just sits there loading. No changed to the phone, no restarts. I then tried disabling/enabling it, nothing. Tried restarting the phone, nothing. Tried shutting the phone off and on, nothing. Network settings are correct, the defaults. Has this happened to anyone else? |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
so i've installed blazingwolfs rom, and everything seems to be okay...except my phone is stuck in airplane mode.
when i try to turn it off, it's a constant hourglass. what gives? :( |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
Quite honestly, the first thing I would try is a re-flash.

yeah eh? I got the same problem when i flashed the cc20 rom, i figured it'd resolve when i installed a regular rom. Will Blazingwolfs roms only work with verizon, or will they work with bell canada? |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
i also get "non supported battery" error
|
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
The last time I got a "non supported battery" error was when i tried to put a battery from a i900 in. For some reason the batteries are different.
|
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
the odd thing is i haven't changed batteries..just roms.
i've had this phone with stock roms for about 5 months |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
That is strange...the ROM's on here are for Verizon, that may be your problem. The Radio's are different as is some things in the PDA part. You'll have to wait for Bell to release a ROM upgrade before you can flash a ROM. To tell you the truth, you may not be able to use the phone now. You can't flash back... :(

As for the bell canada/VZW question, I think Blazingwolf would be better suited to answer this, but I think flashing a bell canada phone with a VZW ROM may cause problems. Now that I think about it, I think if you post this question over in the ROM thread you may get more experienced replies (I use Bgill's ROM currently). |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
Khhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhan!
good thing my HTC touch is in my drawer. guess i'll be storing this one till a bell rom comes out |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
Wow, that's lucky to have an extra phone laying around, I wish i did! My Sammy i760 got run over (why I got the omnia in the first place).
|
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
yeah, i have no idea how im going to fix this even when a new rom coms out.
Apparently the battery issuue is common with the rom issue. it wont charge on this rom. damn. |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
Yeah, the battery charging will be an issue. See if you can DL a battery driver from a i900 from modaco and try it, maybe it will fix the issue. What's happening is the ROM you flashed has i910 battery drivers and you have a i900 (if i'm correct). So the phone is looking for an i910 battery. It's worth a try.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
nope, i have a i1910.
I just realized that my HTC touch will do me no good, as i'm on a dataplan. time to pull out the gold card, i guess :\ |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
Bacchus....I did a little looking around, and it doesn't look good, I found this over at Modeco:
http://www.modaco.com/content/i910-s...ell-omnia-rom/ Basically it looks like the VZW ROMs are NOT compatible with bell canada Omnias and the results your seeing seem to be a constant with other attempts. It doesn't look like there are ANY recovery or custom ROMs you can go to, so unless you have a replacement plan you can use (and disable /lose the Omnia so they can't tell you tried to flash it) you may be a Touch user again for a while. (I am guessing that if/when a bell canada ROM does come out that your battery issue will be fixed as well) Sorry, I will let you know if I find anything new though!! |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
yeah, i've discovered the same thing over the course of the afternoon
thanks man :\ i cant be a touch user, because then i'd be reneguing on my plan. I have to use a 3G phone as a replacement |
Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!
The omnia isn't a 3g phone. At least with verizon.
