GPS is working in google maps!!!!!!!!!

Set Google maps to use com 8 and a baud of 57600.

I had to be outside for it to pick up but it is working!!!!!!

I tried that, it tells me no GPS found.

Are you on the new ROM? If not you will need to upgrade. (sorry I forgot to mention this part as I was excited)

Did you go outside? Mine would not lock indoors and I got the same message.

One of the files is a pdf file. It has the instruction on what to do. Follow them step by step and it will work for you.

That's awesome news. I've been using (my 3rd) XV6700 for a while now, and it's been basically dead for quite some time. Contract is up in 2 weeks, and I'm totally getting this phone. I actually just discovered the phone today, read about the locked GPS, then wondered if PPCGeeks had anything to say about it...and apparently they do! Time for $30/mo data, and *real* GPS.

On a side note - does anyone have the same issue I do - I can't post here with FireFox, only with IE. The text box just gets greyed out in FF. Very odd.
