Will the Samsung have integration between outlook and the navigation?

Will the GPS be so locked that I cannot use other programs for the same purpose?

Will the BT stack aslo be crippled to the point of retardation and not hook to my laptop or desktop?

I started with the Storm, that is a disaster waiting for a lawsuit. VZ sent me an HTC Touch, nice, but the screen is damn small and I can't even get my home city into weather or navigate without copying my client data onto paper and then back into the same device...!!! That is a waste of effort and time.

So, now I wonder what phone has a touch screen, PDA, Nav, Bluetooth...and they work together...
1) Yes, the phone should have integration with Outlook.. It does have WM 6.1 so it should work..

2) From what I have heard so far, the GPS is locked (for now at least- A hack is in the works..)

3) I hope not, but I do not know for sure...

Re: Official Specs of Samsung Omnia...

I picked it up from a verizon kiosk yesterday - I have to say it is very impressive (for anyone that does not mind my lending an opinion). When you are in the store all the alarms and bindings that they have on the phone do not really allow you to get a feel for the device. Once you bring this bad boy home, you realize that it's full of little delectable surprises and works extremely well.

Re: Official Specs of Samsung Omnia...

On the generic version - the 2 megapixel camera was located in the upper right corner. For what ever reason - Verizon chose to lock that feature out, as they did the GPS that ran in Google Maps, etc. As you can see on your Verizon Wireless versions... there is no port or "hole" for the front facing camera lens... which would have come in REAL handy for SKYPE style transmissions, for example.

I don't believe Verizon's CDMA network could handle video chat.. Too bad...

Re: Official Specs of Samsung Omnia...

There may be different versions of the phone from Verizon, mine has the forward camera mounted to the right of the base of the phone's ear speaker, above and to the right of the Verizon logo. Some of the front views in the user manual show the forward camera but do not document it for any function so it certainly seems locked-down for the moment. I don't think Verizon's CDMA network has any limitation in handling the video call load but their marketing folks just haven't seen the need for this. I have no inside information on VZ business model but based on past performance they seem to be laggards and real conservative in launching any new functions.
