LOL! I hate it when I keep trying something that is not working for me only to find out it was user error (me) all along. I am an IT Manager and trust me, I do it to myself often. I'm just glad that you got it figured it out.

Re: [HOW TO] Gain Permanent Root on CL14 Out-The-Box and Backup/Restore Customization
i'm totally inlove with my moment now. i previously had the touch pro 2 and it got kinda boring without the apps. now that my moment is rooted, the battery life is amazing, theres no silly bloatware eating up my battery life or slowing down my processor. they just figured out how to get andriod working on the tp2 but i still would rather stick with the moment

Let the "wannabes" with the TP2s have their Android port. With that 528 MHz processor, it's nothing more than a glorified Hero with a keyboard. And my Moment blows that out of the water |

Re: [HOW TO] Gain Permanent Root on CL14 Out-The-Box and Backup/Restore Customization
Noob question here. I'm about to pull the trigger and root my moment but I installed a bunch of apps even some paid ones. If I load Zefie's kernel, will I have to reinstall them all?

Re: [HOW TO] Gain Permanent Root on CL14 Out-The-Box and Backup/Restore Customization
I never lost a thing when flashing a Zeife kernel, except for the information in Moxier Mail for my Exchange account. But that is easy enough to setup again and what you gain from the custom kernel's overall performance increase and being rooted far outweighs a few minutes in one app again.

Thanks rainfreak The EULA for the Samsung update software had this in it "I understand that all 3rd party applications will be deleted and back up all of my data before proceeding with the upgrade." and I wanted to make sure.
