as far as i can tell, only system/app (applications) and system/framework (themes) are touched, outside of loading the custom kernel, custom recovery and logo.png. i dont see the RIL modified or any other system files. radio shutoff issue should still be present.

It will. Be sure to make a backup first. The best way to do so is by flashing one of SDX's recovery kernels, booting into recovery mode, and making a full data backup. If you're going to use Calk's recover tarfile, you could alternatively use one of the free SMS backup apps out there along with one of the free app trackers/syncers to get your apps and data back.

multiple ways, but i would grab SprintTV.apk out of the cl14_stock.zip file which contains all stock apps from CL14. file should be in system/app directory inside the .zip.
