Intrepid GSM Carrier Locked

Well it appears that the Intrepid is carrier locked to not work with US carrier sim cards. I have been going round and round with Sprint attempting to get the unlock code for my device and they swear that this device is unlocked and there is no code for it... If U put any domestic Sim card in the device it comes up asking for a pin code and allows 10 tries to enter... Is there anywhere to get an unlock code for this device (even paid). Sprint says that they don't have it and I have been through hours of phone calls trying to get this matter taken care of. In the tests I've run, Sprint's card works and funny enough, you can put a boost mobile card in, and the unit will not show carrier locked. Also, how do you get the IMEI number out of the phone.. the usual gsm codes don't seem to work and a seperate IMEI number is not printed on the phone or the box.

Any guidance would be much appreciated!

I've been wondering the exact same thing. I would love to get it unlocked. Please keep us updated

The way to unlock the GSM portion is go in to settings then phone...Then choose GSM only..and it'll ask for you SPL...(code to program your MSID and MDN number in the phone)walla....It's unlocked and can be used with any GSM carrier...Good luck..

Any lucky with your problem on your samsung intrepid? I have to do the same on my I have want to unlock for t mobile buy when I put the card the phone shows the 10 tries PIN...

Help me please...

Did you try surgeman's tip above? Do you have the unlock code from Sprint?

How do you get the msid and mdn #? I thought the msid is the same as the phone #.

It looks like the samsung intrepid is a gsm locked phone and it won't allow me to insert a local gsm carrier sim card!
Please help! I am willing to pay for the unlock pin code!
I can't swicht from cdma to gsm while inserting a foreign sim card!
The system is askimg me for a pin code in order to unlock the gsm portion
of the samsung intrepid 350i! Does anyone knows the pin code?

That's not quite correct - I tried entering the MSL in that screen and got nowhere.

The place I entered it - windows key>settings>personal>phone, then pick the "security" tab, there is a button entitled "SIM Lock". If you click that button and enter the MSL - the phone is unlocked.

I had no problem getting the MSL from Sprint, I just asked.

Has anyone successfully gotten this phone to work on a foreign GSM network, with either a Sprint SIM or a non-Sprint SIM? I've tried both, for days, without success. Both SIM's work when put in a different GSM phone (e.g. a Nokia RM-303 that I got from the office here).

Any ideas? I chose the GSM unlock function, without any effect.

i had the phone working with SIMs from both Hong kong and china before...no problem at all....if u r using SIM...u dont need to worry about the msid...if you phone is unlock, just put in your SIM it should work...u might need to change the service setting to GSM instead of automatic...
