Backlight won't shut off on external power...

I own a Samsung Intrepid and so does my wife. When mine is on external power the backlight turns off after the selected amount of time, as it should. However, my wife's backlight stays on the entire time it's on external power. What's strange is the backlight on her phone turns of normally on battery power.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Thank you!

start -> settings -> power -> advanced tab, check both boxes and set the appropriate time.

This one sometimes changes on its own, which is why I incorporated a fix for it as part of my backlight dimming fix mentioned in my tips thread.
